yea, I know what you mean, since the first time I shot a 1911 I have always wanted one and now I can say I have completed my quest, now I have to step up and get a fully loaded model. The only thing I did as soon as I got home was to remove the ILS from the 1911 and replace the mainspring housing with one that did not have the ILS

$ 580.00, which was the cheapest that I could find in the area at the time, there is one in the Classified Section for 570.00 which is good. I looked at gunbroker.com and found a couple of good deals, but by the time I would of paid for the gun/shipping/transfer, it was just cheaper for me to get it locally.

Mine is getting shipped back to Kimber, it broke Sunday when I was shooting it. Didn't even get 3 clips out of it before it broke.

    Yeah, mags:o

It was having issue's feeding the homeland defender rounds and I thought it was the mag but after changing mags it was the same thing. These are brand new wilson combat 8 rounders. Then when I finally got to the third mag it failed to eject and that is when I noticed my extractor was gone...wtf? They did seem very nice on the phone and said just send it back so they can look at it.

Ughhhh. You're not making me feel too good about my upcoming Kimber purchase. I hope you called their customer service and bitched them out. For the prices they charge they better have it working flawlessly and return it to you quickly. :mad54: Let me know what happens.

I collect 1911's and my stepson, against my better wishes, bought a Kimber and I have to admit, (just not to him) it's a pretty nice pistol.

That itch is pretty bad. I have 9 now. My nicest are a matching pair of Mexican Gritos. My favorite is a tricked out stainless Springfield.

terrible picture, but its a stock Kimber Warrior
I have not had any problems with it.

    Few points -
    - Kimber mags suck - I switched to Wilson, they also hold 8 rounds vs. Kimber's 7
    - I was getting a lot of jams with the elcheapo ammo from Continental, i switched to Winchester White box and ran through 100 rounds with out a problem
    - Pistol is more accurate then I am
