    few thoughts and questions

so a 1911 would be a copycat weapon as there are some mags out there that would extend below the grip ( i dont have any of these, just the little 7 rounders)

    revolvers are of course exempt?

ruger mark III 22/45 with 10 round mag (dont know of any out there that extend below grip) is fine? i dont have a threaded barrel or silencer

maryland regulated firearm paperwork considered registration? why else do they send back a portion of the paperwork to msp

just thinking out loud, but of course we will fight this

    copycats are only for rifles..

unless you talking about assualt pistols which are already on the list and the pistol version of ar-15s.

1911 are handguns.. even with extendend mags.. i believe single stacks with extended mag are 10rndrs.. so it still legal under new law.

thats how i read it atleast.

That's not what the law means by outside the grip. The law means pistols where the mag inserts in a separate location from the grip.
