Yes exactly and the Larue targets have proved to hold up as well.

That looks like something that wouldn't be hard to make. Transmitter, receiver,some commercial grade servos or small motors, rechargable batteries, relay switches, some metal in different gauges and a metal shop to put it all together. There might be some other materials required but it doesn't look that comlicated.

I have seen a few but have always been a little late to the party. Even as pricey as they are when they come up for sale they don't last long.

Yea they are pretty salty. Brand new they are just south of $ 2,000.00 from what I understand Mark Larue made the decision back in 2010 to limit sales to military/LE so that they as a company could keep up with demand and as someone before mentioned possibility of reverse engineering was probably a factor as well.
