Seller says they are not the same rifle. He says he bought the July GB one as a birthday present for his father. He said he's had four of these snipers over time, and that he got this one from an Estate sale and it was his favorite. He has decided to sell off this part of his collection.

Who knows... I'll have it soon enough and post up pics and we can determine what I have. :)

Didn't see any nazi eagles. Looks like they are acceptance marks which can be mistaken for waffen amps but they have numbers instead of swastika's.

    That would be disappointing.

The seller claims that there are "Nazi proof marks," so if he misrepresented it, and you don't like it, you should be able to return it. The fact that there are supposedly no import marks on it is encouraging.

Good luck, hope the bore isn't a sewer pipe. He says good barrel. But if he just bought it and now flipping cause he is "moving to American arms" after just getting it.. Seems a little iffy to me.

Once you get it You'll know by the Serial numbers on the first rifle sold for 250.

    Its the same.
Look at the dents in the stock, they match. Look at the lug where your trigger hand goes and the dents behind it.
Look at bid history, they show the first and last letters of the people.

The seller is asking for a copy of my driver's license and my DOB. He says he needs it for his bound book. Is that correct? I've never been asked that one.

If the guy is misrepresenting the rifle, and lying to you, you may tell him that you want to cancel the deal on those grounds. It doesn't seem that he was honest about the Nazi marks, just for openers.

    Okay, here we go!

Stock markings. It sure looks like that one from the July auction...

Scope mount and top of bolt. At the front of the bolt is a small Nazi eagle (close-up below)

    Close-up of front bolt eagle.

The bolt handle side. Behind the bolt handle, on the rear of the bolt are two small Nazi eagles (close-up below).

Close-up of rear bolt eagle. I can't read the numbers below these.

Top, rear of bolt/safety. These are the only two numbers that appear to match.

    Left side.

Serial numbers. The second number is stamped over.

I only see the three eagles; all on the bolt. A guy that collects German WWII firearms that I know looked at it and suggested that it was a K98 German bolt. He couldn't say anything about the rifle.

So, let me hear it! :)
