I have had one for a year. Out of the box it was an ok gun but loud. I did some of the mods that can be found on the net and added a noise reducer and now it is a great gun. From the bench, using 18gn pellets, you can shoot one hole groups almost through the same hole at 40 yards with no problem. I routinely kill big birds and other pests out to thirty yards with one shot.

Check out Airguns of Arizona and Pyramid Air for reviews and reports. Also, just google Benjamin Disco or Crosman Disco and you will get a wealth of info.

Thanks, What kind of Mods are you talking about? I do understand they are loud but hopefully with a muzzle break/barrel shroud it will quiet it down.

TKO Airguns makes a great muzzle brake. I have the seven inch version and my neighbors can't hear anything.

The one mod you need to do is add the two screws to the trigger housing. They allow you to adjust over travel and creep. There are also a couple of metal triggers that give a better feel than the plastic ones.

These are the only mods I have done and I am very happy with my rifle. There are mods to adjust the air valve, add another air cylinder, add a rotary magazine.

You can put so much money into modifying the Disco that it would almost cost as much as a Mrod.

I experimented with about fifty different weights and types of pellets and found the most accurate, with good killing power were the 18gn Diablo Exact Dumbo Heavy.

There is a lot of info on the web, just start googling. ;)

I find this interesting. I have a .22 MRod and like the gun, but it has been plagued with accuracy problems. Mine shoots pretty well. I had some issues but figured out the scope was crap. I also bought a .25 MRod, amazing accuracy. It is also quite powerful. I will shoot through 3/4" plywood. I bought it for vermin control.

I am thinking about selling the .22, don't need both. Any idea what it is worth? I think new they are around $500. Anyway, great guns.

I just got the synthetic stock .25MRod and the thing is crazy accurate. Shooting it over the Chrony show some amazing pellet speed consistency. I took four squirrels in the back yard last week from 40-60 yards with head shots. They were tasty! A lot of accuracy issues are due to pellet choice and tune. If you decide to sell your .22 let me know.

I'm new into air rifles and thought about getting a Benjamin Discovery in .22 cal. Anybody have one? If so how accurate are they?

Whatever you decide to get I suggest Pyramid air. You can find some online coupons that'll get you 10% (Direct13 or PYRAMID-NRA)off your entire purchase. You can also buy it directly from Crosman on a Tuesday and save 20% (20OFFTUESDAY).

Well, in case anyone is interested, here's what I've done to mine:

I've added a Disco Double kit, a BNM breech with custom Daystate bolt handle, a new gauge, and a Challenger PCP stock custom inletted by DiscosRUs...

"Mrod" is short for Marauder. Benjamin is the manufacturer. You can get them from Pyramydair.com. They're pretty darn quiet in all calibers, .177, .22, .25. I chose to upgrade my Discovery because it's easier to tune than the Mrod.

Got into rim fire a couple of years ago and enjoy it. Thought I'd look into air rifles for something to shoot indoors over the winter. Never realized how complicated and expensive they can get. And delicate. One person says PCP is too loud, another says it is quiet, wherein lies the truth? The only mod I can think I'd want is something to quiet one down. If I go to PCP I've learned I'd have to get a scuba tank as my back won't let me hunch over a pump for 100's of pumps. Guessing an air pump you plug into a car power port won't give enough pressure?

Whoever says PCP guns are too loud have no idea what they're talking about. Yes there are plenty of them that are loud but they were also not designed to be quiet. The .25cal Marauder I had could be shot in my basement and my daughter and better half would have no idea and they were right up stairs. The .22 Disco I have now was loud when I got it but a TKO 6.5" moderator solved that problem FAST. It cost $45 and brought the gun down to Marauder level in sound.

Now my 9mm Evanix PCP air gun is loud lol.... But I'm getting that taken care of in a few weeks and it to will be "backyard" friendly. Having an air gun that slings 78 grain pellets at 850fps and do it quietly is just plain AWESOME.

    Welcome to the addiction!

You can pickup a used scuba tank for under $100 and a regulator/fill devise for $120ish. The guy who fills my scuba tanks will fill them to 3800psi and they last for quite a while. You'll be charging the guns from 2k-3kPSI so home/car air compressors arn't going to even come close.

I want something I can shot in my condo in the winter then use to hunt with in the warm weather. I have 30-35" for shooting distance. Condo is all concrete except for front door so exterior sound isn't a big issue. When I had asked on hear a few months ago someone said the PCP was really loud for indoor. Now I know other wise. Would I need ear protection?

Not if you get one designed to be quiet (shrouded barrel). Depending on your budget and what animals you're looking to hunt a nice Benjamin Marauder in .22 cal would be perfect. They are so quiet you could be carrying on a conversation while shooting it and never need to raise your voice.

I have one but chose not to install it after hearing several folk say it made no difference and that it created some hang up problems with the bolt. A 20 dollar piece of plastic; I was not impressed with what looked like a strip of milk jug plastic formed into a tube over a coat hanger. It sits in my drawer as a giveaway.
