Are you trolling if you think it is legal, or are you asking in terms of functionality and ergonomics? Or both?

I have this same grip on two of my SBR's and I really like it. However, I would never put it on an AR pistol since I want to stay out of jail.

I don't have any foregrip on my AR pistol because I use the magwell and magazine with my support hand. I put my Sig brace on my upper pectoral muscle, below my chin, and tuck in my elbows. That puts the pistol in perfect alignment so the holographic sight (and back up sights) lines up with my eye. That eliminates nearly the entire arc of movement for me.

I could be wrong about this, but I believe that putting a vertical foregrip on a pistol changes its classification.

This 2014 web page from an attorney includes a 2011 ATF letter that says the foregrip on the pistol makes it AOW.

The attorney's conclusion, which I agree with, says, "To summarize … unless your AR pistol has an OAL greater than 26 inches then you should not add a vertical fore-grip unless you first submit a Form 1 and get it approved."

thats a no go for me and should be for everyone

the BCM even sells it labeled as a vertical grip

if they sold it as an angled grip maybe i could meet you half way here but if it looks like a vert grip then ATF is gonna treat it like one

Someone posted a letter from ATF regarding a 90 degree angle, and how (I think) the grip pictured would not make the weapon an AOW. I'm presuming that's what gave rise to this thread/poll.

The device in that letter is an angled foregrip that butts up to the magwell. It does not say a perpendicular grip is OK. In fact, it says the opposite.

yes they do advertise it as vertical yet in the description they state:
The forward angle increases the rigidity of the forearm, while providing a more natural wrist angle.
Can be mounted in reverse angle to increase control when grabbing handguard and grip

A vertical grip is a vertical grip - there aren't varying degrees of being vertical. The ATF was quite clear in the one opinion letter that defined a vertical grip as being 90 degrees to the bore of the weapon. You can only hold vertical grip in one position!!
    Does this make sense?

Just because it is slightly angled you are still gripping it vertically in my opinion where as magpuls angled foregrip is just that angled
