I'm looking forward to that "data/county stats" When they find out most of the gun crime is by stolen handguns,- and that the SCOTUS says you can't ban handguns ... and then there's that pesky state pre-emption thingy
After Pittman abandoned the meeting, his chief of staff Jennifer Purcell served as the coordinator/moderator of the discussion about the six proposed work groups.
In a post-meeting conversation with her, she listened to Patriot Picket complaints about the obvious emphasis on gun control on law-abiding citizens vs. the violence committed by criminals, the partisan political weighting of the group, and the lack of public input.
Purcell responded that there would be opportunities for public input, and for the public to speak at future meetings, but that this meeting was only about staking out working groups and not getting into policy debates.
Chamblee indicated she was a Baltimore County resident. But she's a victim.
Nobody is taking guns. This isn't about the 2A. 90% of the country agrees with "us", even the NRA. We just have to get the word out.
But registration is very good, storage requirements are very good, ERPOs are very good. (AA County leads the state!).
Pittman lives in the country and he owns a gun! MPGV has a lot of resources on gun laws.
It was pointed out to the Exec's Chief of Staff that the task force included at least three representatives from groups favoring gun control, but no one from MSRPA, MSI, or any hunter group. Stand by, but don't expect real change.
It would be interesting to see what "stats" they come up with. The truth is really going to hurt, if they are objective. THings they will skip:
Stolen Guns
Lack of lockup
defensive gun uses
Stats from states with CC
