So I have searched and can't seem to find my awnser.
If I have a lower at my FFL and go do my paperwork for transfer with MSP and write down my serial number can i go home and submit my form 1 while waiting on MSP or do I need it in hand. Just trying to save a week of wait time. I have always had one in hand prior.

That's generally what I do. Unless you get disapproved during the "bad child cooling-off" week, once you legally own the serialized firearm, you can submit your Form 1.

I was thinking that just never have done it. No problems with approval i just thought there may be a glitch in the matrix that i don't technically own it until MSP says i am a good boy

I was wondering about this and have been on the cautious side of waiting to take possession of it.

Guess I'll file paperwork a week early for the next ones coming in!
