I was there with R&R and DL on Tuesday during the interviews.

Chief Wilson and Lt. Labs came up to us and informed that there were additional citations and Lt. Labs escorted them both to the other side of LM and an awaiting cruiser. The Chief stayed and talked with Del Rey and myself during this time. This was when I asked the Chief if there had been a complaint called in by a pedestrian, driver, legislator, aide, lobbyist, etc.. and the Chief told me that there were no complaints called in and that Sgt Pope acted on his own as the supervisor of the shift.

That sound you hear is the Chief throwing Pope under the bus....

Issuing additional citations and throwing Pope under the bus seems contradictory. If Pope acted on his own, why the additional citations? Looks like the front office was doubling down. They weren't issued by Pope, but by the LT who doesn't appear to have witnessed the arrest (unless I missed that part).

I was worried about being too hoarse this morning, but I called into the “Sean & Frank Show” on WCBM Talk Radio and they were kind enough to put me on for 4-5 minutes to let me update their audience on Patriot Night Out!

I told them we are still interested in finding out who may have had DL and I arrested, and Sean & Frank said we should definitely file suit...

    What say you Patriots?

Yes, a lawsuit may be an avenue for publicizing 1A & 2A infringements. I'm not sure how these things work but could the way it is filed or the amounts requested be explained/exaggerated in a way to get this into the National media. ie.
x amount to match donations from Soros
x amount to match donations from Russia
x amount to match donations from Bloomberg
x amount to start a fund to add 2A to MD's Constitution
x amount to start MCP outreach program
x amount for a dossier on Ramierez

about 1.2 Billion is my common core math sum total.

Looking forward to some good news soon ... all the bills recently put up are quite depressing.

Interesting, but I'm not holding my breath on any of the 'shot-callers' being outed.

The charges may have been dropped, but the damage remains. What more can we do?

The Magnificent Seven would not have been in harm's way if the legiscritters weren't infringing on our 2A rights. While the cases for Jeff and kevin must now by settled, well, I hope they don't settle, in the courts, what you can do is call and write your legiscritters, write op-eds to the Baltimore Sun, show up to testify for pro and anti gun bills, and get your friends and coworkers to do the same. Your voice must be heard.

I encourage you to join Maryland Shall Issue. Regardless of membership status, you can view the legislation tracker there, and follow the Maryland 2A forum here. I find personal interaction to be the most rewarding. Legiscritters can forget to read the phone logs or just skim an email, but when you testify feet from them, it is harder to be ignored.

If you haven't done so, go to the intro forum and intro yourself, then make a plan to do something to stand up for your rights in the next few few weeks.

I agree, the follow up citations were over the top and only proved that it was personal. I can't imagine how many interviews have been conducted in the area without a citation being issued. Why this time? Even Ray Charles can see why.......

The chief needs to go at a minimum. I mean really, to have the Chief of Police come out to cite you for standing on a sidewalk. Come on now. It's easy to see that Jeff was targeted that second day and the PP was targeted the night before.

If this were any other group, there would be such an outrage, it would be making international news.

Shame on the state of Maryland, shameful.

As I understand it from posts here, the additional citations covered Monday night, not RR's activity in the interview on Tuesday. Still BS, though, and an indication that they wanted to make something stick.

Reading between the lines, the States Attorney's office decided to stop this nonsense and wouldn't back the actions of the Capital Police, including the Chief. If there's any truth to Ramirez being the one that told on site officers to go after the PP, given that he's running for a States Attorney position elsewhere in MD, one wonders if he would have the same level of integrity as an SA as the one in Annapolis.

Also from posts here, I believe that MCP asked the SA to drop the charges.

It's clear to me that the party line on this is that Sgt. Pope acted on his own. That's been stated and the emphasis in the press conference and elsewhere on "additional training" continues the narrative that the rank and file just do not know enough about rights and the law governing protests on public sidewalks, which is also BS.

Only the judicial side will ferret out who actually instigated the arrests. Sure, it might have been poor judgement on the sergeant's part, but also, maybe not.

    Let's find out.

In my view on that fateful Monday night, it appeared to me that Sgt. Pope was pretty angry, not necessarily at the picketers - although they were of course the specific cause of his problem - but at having his hand forced by Higher Authority. He was no stranger to our picket line, and had never exceeded his authority in past encounters, so far as I am aware.

While it's fine to castigate him for following orders that he probably understood to be questionable at best, he is certainly not the first sworn LEO to buckle under pressure from the Ruling Class. The threat of losing one's livelihood and pension is not taken lightly.

It is to be hoped that the person or persons who instigated this action by the police will eventually be identified. While being tried and convicted of violating our civil rights is unlikely in a state like Maryland, it might be that the Court of Public Opinion would pass its own sentence on such activity.

Meanwhile, that same Court, acting through the many hundred picketers last Monday, has made the sidewalks of Annapolis safer for those concerned citizens who would face down the entitled oppressors of our right to seek redress of our many substantiated grievances.

Typically Senators and Delegates will come out of their respective office buildings, cross the street and proceed to the State House on either side of LM. On the Monday night of the arrests, while DL was minding the signs by himself while everyone else was parking, Ramirez came out of the Senate office building early and by himself. He crossed the sidewalk, took a left and went towards DL who called him by name, shook his hand and thanked him for hosting us at his coffee clatch the previous Saturday.

Ramirez then proceeded down the sidewalk, took a right on the Delegate side of LM and up towards the State House.

Less than 5 mins later Sgt Pope confronts DL.

    Anyone believe in coincidences?

WOW, that's new information. That is as damning as it could be without a confession. WOW!

It's a coincidence until factually proven.

The better phrase is “circumstantial evidence”, but we are all suspicious about that Ramirez Detour aren’t we?

Issuing additional citations and throwing Pope under the bus seems contradictory. If Pope acted on his own, why the additional citations? Looks like the front office was doubling down. They weren't issued by Pope, but by the LT who doesn't appear to have witnessed the arrest (unless I missed that part).

Actually it was Sgt. Pope issuing the four citations the following day.

When Lt. Labs led us from the public sidewalk to an unmarked cruiser at the steps of the Capitol to “accept” our citations, Pope exited the cruiser with the shift Lt. that I saw on duty the night we were arrested.

The 4 citations were presented to us by Sgt Pope, who was the arresting officer on that paperwork.

Slightly OT, but it is driving me crazy...
Who was the MDS guy in a pink button down shirt? He was at Dock St MBBQ and at Union Jack's.
Everyone seemed to know who he was except me.

I was asking R&R about this same guy last night.

The one who looked like he could be Fabs' younger taller brother, right?

I am sad I was unable to join all you Patriots yesterday evening, but I am thrilled so many came out to support Rack and Kevin and stand against tyranny. The printed signs looked awesome. And the Clandestine boys restores some hope for the next generation.

    A couple questions:

    1. Were there any non-Republican members of the MGA who came out to show their support for the 1A or the injustice that occurred?
    2. What's next for PP and how do we continue to participate or help financially?
#1 Is funny! Damn near spit my iced tea.

YES!!! He was dressed like he came straight to the event from a white collar office job.
He was sitting at the bar at Union Jack's with IronPony (I think) and R&R spoke to him as he and Heller were getting their beers.
