So now that Biden has come up with his anti-gun platform, we have three Democrat (Socialist) candidates who have openly called for "buy-backs"/confiscation of modern sporting rifles. I fear that this snowball is picking up speed and adding more flakes as it rolls downhill.
The grabbers have certainly come out of the closet regarding their true intentions.
Hard to tell where this goes from here. Perhaps the Supreme Court will intercede. But for reasons oftentimes speculated upon, though largely I believe still very much open to debate, the Court has been reluctant to rule to date. Perhaps more concerning is that the Court to date has not halted increasing contention with the most obvious and most simplistic of rulings, and the ruling we all want. That is, "shall not be infringed", means just exactly what it says.
Perhaps where this is heading is that we will one day tell the grabbers that they can legislate whatever they want. It increasingly appears that they're likely to do this anyway. Maybe even sooner rather than later.
Then there's the topic of laws and the weight of laws generally in this country today, as they don't carry either the weight or the enforcement they once did. Look at immigration, where the left simply ignores and indeed openly circumvents any laws they don't like. And they do so with almost absolute impunity.
Should we not comply with future legislation, the ball will be squarely back in their court regarding any enforcement next steps.
One thing seems certain. There's a stalemate at present, but with an increasingly emboldened left, and one that has largely been left unchecked. Which almost invariably means that, in one form or another, we're one step closer to perhaps a bigger fight.
