Just got a disapproval from ATF on a Form 4 of a Daniel Defense MK18, which is measured at >29". The reason stated is "Prohibited by State law--Assault Weapon"

The story is the MSP directed NFA to reject ALL pending devices except Suppressors. Aparently the MSP wants to review the applications. Seems sorta underhanded and backwards.

Well MSP signed off on mine Sept. 12th saying it's legal.(individual)

Now it's not? Maybe they're treating trusts with no LE signoff differently?

What BS this whole thing is.

Well, if it works the way I envision it, wouldn't my FFL submit a 77r to MSP after my approved Form 4 comes back? That repsonsibility should be on the FFL and MSP should it not? Why is BATFE rejecting otherwise legal Form 4's? They're saying >29" is an AW. Clearly it's not.

So is MSP trying to regulate full auto transfers via an arbitrary and capricious application of their authority - without a specific law? and now a Catch-22 situation has been created?

Maybe o'Malley is right.... The "majority" of Maryland elected him, it's just his way of saying if you voted for me, you're too incompetent to own guns.
