    Tell that to Kathy...
I wanted to submit some about HB159, but her office never called me back.
But I am taking off, and will be submitting myself on 3/8, and 3/14, and participating again if there is anything deplorable going again.

The flu? Are you sure it isn't just acute nausea brought on by memories of bean burrito induced gaseous emanations from an unnamed person in the overflow room?

Looking forward to seeing you there! :party29:

Breakfast meetup at Chick and Ruths?
Nothing better for starting a day in Annapolis testifying for Liberty than a hearty breakfast and the Pledge of Allegiance!

Okay, so who is going to show the newbie how it's done? What kind of prep work needs to be done, other than reading the bills in advance? What should I bring (snacks, paper & pen, etc.)?

All 3 or snacks and a smart phone. Recommend bringing a battery pack or a charger cause its usually a long day.

Also recommend preparing 3 or 4 arguments per bill so we can hit them from all angles.

Don't forget your written testimony. Some discussion on that is in this thread:

    https://www.mdshooters.com/showthread.php?t=206403

Basically, you are writing a letter to the whole committee expressing your views and any evidence which won't fit into the short time allowed for oral testimony.

    All solid 2A supporters.

They will welcome and appreciate your testimony on the appropriate days.

I always tell people the following:

Get to know your Representative's legislative assistant. They are your best friend. I call mine and tell them I am sending testimony (via email). I ask them if they can make all needed copies and submit them to the appropriate hearing. They always do.

When I testify, I don't read my written submitted testimony, I just let them know that I have submitted written testimony and then ad lib my oral testimony. Ad lib allows me to compensate for what has already been said, and it is a fun way to rebut any comments that have been made by the critters up to that point.

Last year we were able to go into the XX Office Building and register on a touchscreen either for or against pending bills and indicate that we were or were not going to testify. Does anyone know if that system will be used this year? It was a great alternative to submitting written testimony and all the hassle associated therewith.
