This one, while amusing, bothers me because it is sad and true.
Nice photo. Like the contrast of the Gadsden flag with the Maryland State flag in the background.A while back, I ordered a nice Gadsden flag. Yesterday, I finally put it up out front.
If you have one, start flying it! If you don't, buy one, and start flying it! It would be great to see more and more of them going up around this state. And I suspect it will also start conversations.
When neighbors ask what it is, and what it means, they've "opened the door". It's time to wake this state (and counrty) up!
Let's make a statement!!!
The Gadsden is a great flag. I've always really liked it.
But, ever since it was adopted as the "official" flag of the Tea Party the sight of it makes my butt pucker. No thanks.
It's a shame too.
You people that don't like the TEA Party are shallow and have no idea what it's about. All you have heard is what the media wants you to hear. I bet you have never even attended one. You play right into the LEFTS hands on this, what else about would most of us hear not agree with.
I would prefer to just fly the American flag upside down. Especially since 4/4/13. It is quite appropriate, but I wonder if it would be disrespectful to fly it that way through 2016. Or at least 2014 (hopefully).
What I really want is a t-shirt with this quote, krrpng in mind the tree of liberty concept: "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats." - HL Mencken
Please don't do this...anyone. It's a complete disrespect for the men and women who have died for this country. No it isn't perfect, and right now it is definitely dysfunctional, but this still is the United States of America, and the flag deserves the respect it has earned.
Flying it upside down is not intended to be a sign of disrespect for the flag or the country, or the people who have died for it. I was under the (probably mistaken) assumption that was a universal sign of distress.
There are those who would fly it upside down as a sign of displeasure with the government, which I believe may be what was being addressed. That, IMO, is an insult to the flag.
It should be flown that way--again, IMO--only in times of true distress.
Strongly agreed.
If you fly the flag... as I do mine. Let it fly properly.

I'm in for three of the "traditional" Maryland flags... Once they're ready, of course.

So, it's not possible to know exactly what the Tea Party is about and still not like them? Interesting.
For future reference, there are usually more than two perspectives on any given subject. You should look into it sometime. Very liberating.
