This one, while amusing, bothers me because it is sad and true.

A while back, I ordered a nice Gadsden flag. Yesterday, I finally put it up out front.

If you have one, start flying it! If you don't, buy one, and start flying it! It would be great to see more and more of them going up around this state. And I suspect it will also start conversations.

When neighbors ask what it is, and what it means, they've "opened the door". It's time to wake this state (and counrty) up!

    Let's make a statement!!!
Nice photo. Like the contrast of the Gadsden flag with the Maryland State flag in the background.

The Gadsden is a great flag. I've always really liked it.

But, ever since it was adopted as the "official" flag of the Tea Party the sight of it makes my butt pucker. No thanks.

    It's a shame too.

You people that don't like the TEA Party are shallow and have no idea what it's about. All you have heard is what the media wants you to hear. I bet you have never even attended one. You play right into the LEFTS hands on this, what else about would most of us hear not agree with.

So, it's not possible to know exactly what the Tea Party is about and still not like them? Interesting.

For future reference, there are usually more than two perspectives on any given subject. You should look into it sometime. Very liberating.

I got a tattoo of the Gadsden snake in 2008 (after years of deliberation over getting it) right before the Tea Party got all the press coverage during the election cycle.

I've had to explain on several dates why I'm not a "crazy Tea Party guy".

I agree with many principles of the Tea Party, but not all of then. I do plan on getting a Gadsden license plate in VA though...

I would prefer to just fly the American flag upside down. Especially since 4/4/13. It is quite appropriate, but I wonder if it would be disrespectful to fly it that way through 2016. Or at least 2014 (hopefully).

What I really want is a t-shirt with this quote, krrpng in mind the tree of liberty concept: "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats." - HL Mencken

Please don't do this...anyone. It's a complete disrespect for the men and women who have died for this country. No it isn't perfect, and right now it is definitely dysfunctional, but this still is the United States of America, and the flag deserves the respect it has earned.

Mine has been riding in the back of my truck. Was going to put it on the wall in the garage, but I will fly it from time to time. I'm not worried about pissing people off, but I am worried about tipping off criminals that I have guns here.

Flying it upside down is not intended to be a sign of disrespect for the flag or the country, or the people who have died for it. I was under the (probably mistaken) assumption that was a universal sign of distress.

There are those who would fly it upside down as a sign of displeasure with the government, which I believe may be what was being addressed. That, IMO, is an insult to the flag.

It should be flown that way--again, IMO--only in times of true distress.

    Strongly agreed.

If you fly the flag... as I do mine. Let it fly properly.

Don't need to convince me. If you read back, I was originally concerned it would be taken as a sign of disrespect right from the start.

I'm the kind of guy that gets a little bent if the flag isn't displayed properly when it is hung against a wall. I was taught the union was the position of honor, and should always be on the flag's right, so that if the flag is displayed flat, hanging vertically, the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to the observer's left. I would never willingly disrespect the flag. And the only reason I considered hanging the flag upside down is not so much that I am displeased with the gov't (although I am), but that I feel that the flag itself is in distress because the Constitution itself seems to be "shat upon" so much lately.

The punctiliousness of your orthography makes me want to join the Tea Party right now!

"What else about would most of us hear not agree with," indeed. Spell check cannot fix your homonym issues...but we're all past "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", right?

I have created a version of the Gadsden Flag in combination with the Maryland State Flag in Distress as well as the Maryland Crossland Flag. Since I had a bunch of people asking for them I have created decals, magnets, mugs and travel mugs with the design. I will also be putting each of these images into an actual flag and selling them as well.

You can check out the store The Maryland Gadsden and purchase any of the products you would like. Each product purchased also comes with a donation to Maryland Shall Issue to further promote our cause.

Here are the two main images:

Plan D? Not worth the hassle.

The problem is it must be imminent danger to life or property.

I do not see this yet..

I can say that, upon reflection, inverting the flag as a form or political protest is a non starter, but I can not say that I would never do it. I can say that if it came to that I expect the veterans would join me--- especially the oath keepers. We are nowhere near that. God willing we never will be.

For now fly her proudly, union up.

I'm in for three of the "traditional" Maryland flags... Once they're ready, of course.

    Brian

Honestly your the first person to request the non distress flag version. But as each flag will be custom made upon order (simply don't have the money to pre-buy hundreds of dollars of flags!).

Once I find a good flag manufacturer I will post the items in the store for purchase. Are you interested more in a cheaper yet affordable flag ($95) or a high quality last a long time flag ($195)? Depending on what I can find as far as flag manufacturers I may give you the option for cheaper or better quality but trying to poll the public to see what they would like.

Thats right, when you speak about things you have no idea about then you are an imbisul. If you don't like people that stand for the constitution and freedom then it's time for you to join Obama. Have fun in your Socialistic Utopia.
