I'd even look upon it better if they had an actual clue.... THEN voted the party line anyway. At least knowing the very minimal basics of the topic you are voting on isn't all that much to ask.

Lest anyone think I'm being dramatic.....there's apparently quite a few of them who are clueless.

That party's leadership at the federal level has proclaimed ignorance of a bill's content to be a virtue, not a handicap. Just pass 'em, then you can find out what they do. The state versions of the national dim leadership also embrace the thrill of ignorance. As long as there's plenty of virtue signaling and rabid enough TDS going on, the actual substance of these things doesn't matter in the least.

Ha, I had forgotten about that, "We gotta pass it to know what's in there".

20,000 pages of regulation that was.

Folks, listen closely from ~1:20 to around 1:29. http://mgahouse.maryland.gov/mga/pl...?catalog/03e481c7-8a42-4438-a7da-93ff74bdaa4c

A Judge is telling a Senate Member that the cases are "sealed", yet no one can point to how that is done LEGALLY. Very odd that results from cases that are pertinent to current bills,... and no one knows what they're talking about.

I saw this live on a FB feed and the audio was much better on this link. Beidle was saying that the judge told her that the OAH records are sealed, the judge was not on the audio.

IF she's not just a total toolbag who doesn't know what she heard and the OAH results ARE sealed this would be hilarious. At the ENC meeting that is THE ONLY THING that the Dems complained about was that some of the hearings were in closed session.

Thank you, As I have said before, I don't care what people do, so long as they do something, provided that something is not giving up.

    Amen brother. See avatar.

Thanks for all the years of fighting the good fight.
Even Schmuel would have no problem with you.

And our buddy Larry will be more than happy to sign a bill getting rid of the HPRB. He's so much better than the "other" guy.

Why sure, Ben Jealous would order Palozzi to issue a W&C for "Self Defense" every time! And do away with all the restrictions on firearms and magazines. Want a grenade launcher? No problem - buy two!

Why is the excuse always about what Jealous would or wouldn't have done?

I'd love to gaze into that MDS crystal ball some of you have access to.

If we let our elected officials off on every single thing just because we believe they shit on us LESS than what someone else would have, we're really setting the bar low.

    'Zackly.

They were playing Chess apparently, we...... I'm not sure it matters at this point what we were doing.

So few non-democrat legislators, folks from where I'm at, we don't really deserve this shit sandwich. I'm in the middle of what might as well be Lancaster County PA. We hunt, target shoot off our back decks, run straight pipe diesel trucks towing trailers with long since dead tags and never get stopped. My truck has at least one shotgun pretty much full time for several months of the year, no one dicks around with one another, vast majority of us like to help out neighbors with projects and things.

What the actual EF is going on with the center and lower center parts of this State? Listening to that MGA recording is like nails on a chalk board. People that quite literally have NO clue about a gun, how the MSP LD operates, what it takes to actually CARRY a gun (somehow easily confused by those useless fvcks as "getting" a gun). They very plainly are writing and voting on laws that effect every resident of the State.......with almost zero knowledge on the subject matter.

    It's insanity.

The legiscreatures, like judges and other Peers of the Realm, have no clue about what it takes to get a permit because on their ascendancy to the Peerage they receive a permit in the mail (or hand delivered by the Maryland State Regulator's lobbyist, with the Crown's compliments), as if by effin' magic.

I'd like a peek into YOUR crystal ball in that regard.

Nobody's letting anybody off any hook, FYI. Perhaps you could devote a few seconds to review some of my other posts about lawnchair Larry. If he's arrogant enough to run nationally, the response will be the same as it was for OweMalley.

Now let's put this to bed and focus on protecting what few civil rights we still have, OK?

Why is the excuse always about what Jealous would or wouldn't have done?

Because everyone who was dedicated to preventing Hogan from being reelected was thus consciously, deliberately, and with an awareness of the consequences, providing aid and comfort to Ben Jealous the socialist you-shouldn't-be-allowed-to-own-any-guns-ever gun grabber and his cohort, including Frosh.

Continually pretending that those were NOT the two real-world, real-life choices here in deep-blue Maryland suggests such an odd and misplaced take on things that it seems to required a reminder. That's why people say it. Because obviously people can't seem to figure that out or remember it once they do.

It's not an excuse. It's reality. Shouldn't reality have something to do with these conversations?

This from WBALTV.com Voters 2018 Guide - Maryland Governors Race - Gun Rights

Ben Jealous: In a year of record gun deaths in our state's largest city, we need a governor with a history of fighting against the pernicious influence of the gun lobby's on elected officials... . As governor, I will work to create an interstate compact to decrease the flow of guns through our state, support universal background checks, and make sure that judges can take away guns from those convicted of domestic violence. Marylanders can trust that my campaign is free from the influence of special interests because 99 percent of my donations have come from individuals and none of my money comes from big corporations. As governor, I will work for the people of Maryland alone. So, in other words, same as what is happening under Lawnchair Larry.

I must have missed where Hogan was proposing that it's high time duck hunters and farmers be stripped of their shotguns. Or that we pursue a large slate of state policies aimed at jacking up income taxes by at least half again, and drive businesses out of the state. There are plenty of bones to pick with Hogan, but to say that the avowed socialist who thinks you shouldn't be allowed to own any guns is the "same" suggests you're just not at all serious about any of this. What do you think the HPRB's members would have been looking like under any other normal MD gubernatorial win? No, Hogan is NOT going out of his way to carry our water. But "the same" as Jealous? Really?

You're pushing a thesis a bit too far here. There was absolutely nothing wrong in withdrawing support from Hogan based on his decision to stand with gun controllers vs 2A advocates. It did not give succor to Jealous, nor put him in a position to win. Hogan made the decision that any 2A supporters that he lost as a result of his actions were dispensable and that many others would think they had no choice and pull the lever for him anyway. Of course he was right - because he crushed Jealous who was bleeding support from his own party. Jealous may have been a boogie man, but he wasn't a contender. Hogan did move the Republican party further left in Maryland and did very little to expand their presence in the MGA.

I fault him more for this than anything else. He said a few token words and left us out to dry. Political ambition over doing the right thing.

    Well, where to start....

I thought this was a Maryland 2A discussion, not taxes, business, whatever.

Since no one knows what Jealous would or would not have done, I'm stating it appears to me that Hogan is no different.

I saw the HPRB under O'Malley, I'm aware it's not ideal.
