Metro follows the law of the state they operate in. Based on that OC in VA would be ok.

VA amended their statutes to override an older Metro policy.

DC allows TRANSPORT on Metro. DC does not allow CARRY on Metro.

Transport means unloaded in a locked case.

    IANAL.

It was actually Metro who requested that DC ban carry for permit holders in their system.

Gun Rights Groups Criticize Ban on Gun Carry on DC Metro in Wake of Murder
DC Council Chairman Phil Mendelson Says Metro Requested Ban

    http://freebeacon.com/issues/gun-ri...n-on-gun-carry-on-dc-metro-in-wake-of-murder/

When asked if the city was reviewing its ban, a Metro Police Department spokesman referred the*Free Beacon to D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson (D.).

Mendelson told the Free Beacon that the Council has no plans to change the law, and appeared to place the burden for that decision on the Metro system, known officially as the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).

"There are no amendments to the law being considered at this time," said Mendelson in an email. "The law, as revised last fall, gives property owners the right to prohibit carrying on their premises. WMATA contacted the Council prior to our action on the legislation last fall to ask that their premises be off-limits to carrying. WMATA (busses, rail, etc.) was then added to the list. If we were to act to remove WMATA from the list, the effect would be unaffected."

I only posted what the policy is, not who created it.

    DC Metro carry-no
    Transport ok

    VA Carry including OC-Yes

VA intentionally amended their statute to override WMATA policy on carry in VA.

DC could have easily allowed carry on Metro. Being the statists they are, they declined to allow it. They prefer to blame Metro, being the weasels they are.

AFAIK, there is no prohibition on carry on Metro in MD.

Unless you mean Shall Issue. The only way that will happen here is a favorable SCOTUS ruling on shall issue

That's a little better then. I don't know actually whether Illinois allows locked transport.

Just so you know, your one word posts and short sentence posts would indicate an attempt to get to 50 posts to get WC and classifieds access.

It's frowned upon here and will get your bogus posts removed so you need to post meaningful input.

Just be aware you're being watched by other members, including me.

I will have no hesitation to report you to the mods either

Those of us who post frequently notice these guys right away.

There behavior pattern is always the same and easy to notice. Either he stops or he'll be shown the door.

I don't think anything but member vigilance is necessary but that's JMO.
