current ATF wait time

A couple new data points on my stuff in the hopper:

Form 4 - Mailed 1/11/13, Pending 2/11/13, Pending Approval 7/2/13, told it would take 90 days from PA status.
Form 4 - Mailed 4/6/13, Pending 6/19/13, told it would take 9 months from pending status
Form 4 - Mailed 5/24/13, STILL NOT PENDING!!! Told it was taking about 90 days to go pending these days.

So... with estimates at 90 days to go pending and 9 months after pending, it looks like the ATF is predicting a year for approval these days. Wonderful. :sad20:

I have 2 Form 4's that are pending since 1/04/13. (Mailed 12/7 & checks cashed 12/13) Checked today, and they are still pending. Hopefully any day now. :fingerscrossed:

I have 4 Form 4s that went Pending 2/6/2013 and as of 7/19/2013 they are Pending Approval. I asked and apparently there is a difference between Pending and Pending Approval. I was told Pending - they have your paperwork and are processing it to make sure it is correct and doing their background checks. Pending Approval - you have passed everything and they are waiting for one of the agents to lick a stamp.

Not sure how accurate it is but that is what was eplained to me by one of the BATFE/NFA support staffers.

That's unusual. They're generally quick to cash checks.

It has to do with the new researchers the NFA branch hired about a year ago. They do most of the heavy lifting on the checks, but only the "examiners" can approve it. So "pending approval" means that the researcher cleared everything and put it in a stack on the examiners desk.

...at least, that's how it was explained to me.

Whay a birthday present! My Form 1 was in my mailbox today when I got home. I mailed it off sometime in Dec. 2012. It was under my name, no trust.

Looks like I got a hell of a wait then. Form 1 went out last month, 21st IIRC.

Apparently it's now 8-10 weeks from time they cash check till your in the system to be processed.

Just got off the phone with NFA Branch about 30 minutes ago.
