I'm out because I'm not a fan of the 1911. There.... I said it. I own one and have no reason to want to buy another.
But I thought you were involved in the challenge to MD’s assault weapons ban?

"CMP 1911" is an FFL licensed business and CMP is not. We cannot transfer records from CMP to "CMP 1911". Everyone has a choice in this matter... Follow the purchasing rules as prescribed or don't purchase a 1911 from CMP 1911. Again, these rules are mandated by Congress and the United States Army and CMP 1911 has to follow to the letter
If you have a beef with the way things are being handled you are barking up the wrong tree , whine to the Army and Congress

Biggest problem I see is that many FFL's won't provide the consumer with a signed copy of their FFL. They'd provide it to the CMP directly perhaps but not necessarily to the purchaser.

If every FFL in the country refused to give signed copies to purchasers, no one could purchase.
Then the FFLs could submit their own packages, buy valuable 1911s, and flip them in their brick and mortar stores.
The FFLs could provide signed copies to very close friends too. Those who walk in off the street are SOOL.
CMP's entire plan is subject to fraud and abuse.
Selling to 03s would eliminate the headaches and would be in keeping with the whole idea of collecting.

At one a year they will last a long time.
And then 1 FFL would decide to do it, charge $100 transfer fee and clean up. Until another one got in on the action, and then another and before you know it they would all be doing it for the regular price. It's exactly how the free market works.
Or they don't get flipped at all and stay in FFL private collections.
All the 03FFL people are saying is the US has firearm laws on the books. We submitted the paperwork and paid the money and jumped through the hoops for times like these. Was hoping if enough folks talked about it and e-mailed them about it that they would reconsider.
