I'm more of a hunter than a clay shooter but I have a charity shoot coming up. Which choke and ammo combo should I use? Patterning beforehand isn't an issue. I'm using a single barrel gun (pump). I have no idea what the course is like.
ammo:
#9 1oz. 1170ft/sec
#7.5 1-1/8oz. 1200ft/sec

These are from the 80's and were well used by me. Most are metal tonkas with a few other stuff mixed in. Some might be missing a tire or track and dusty. Free to whoever wants to come get them in Dundalk one evening.

I have a good relationship with my butcher and I'm well stocked on meat. This giveaway will have 2 winners and each winner will get 2 packages of venison backstraps (tenderloins). The meat will be recently harvested from July 14th. Winners will be chosen by a random number generator on July 27th...
I've been rationing my deer meat and was down to the last package of ground. Today we started crop damage on one of my properties. We had 6 hunters get that got in a total of 8 hunts, 6 does were harvested.
Has anyone else gotten out yet?
Friday 4/27 my father got a jake. It was a case of you go left I go right. I'm gonna call and he'll run right to you, away from me.
4/28 I was working a bird for 2 hours. He gobbled 200+ times in the 2 hours I was working him. He flew down and was strutting...
My father recently mentioned wanting to move his delta point pro red dot over to his 1911. I said it shouldn't be hard to find a mount for the red dot to fit into the dovetail slot. The only issue is the gun isn't a dovetail. What style of mount is this called? It's on a S&w performance center...
Free to anyone that has a little one that might enjoy these. My wife and I are cleaning the house and purging a bunch of stuff. The toys may need a good cleaning as they were used outside in the dirt.
Located in Dundalk evenings and weekends, and Elkridge weekdays.
I'm clearing out some clutter on some book shelves. I have 14 American rifleman magazines, 6 American hunter magazines. Books are cars of the 50's, 60's, 70's auto repair for dummies, and ultimate classic car.
Pick up in Dundalk or Elkridge. or meet near those areas.
I'm curious of what others think or if someone can find a law that says you can't. My thoughts are to archery hunt in this antlerless week of muzzleloader, but also carry a muzzleloader for the hike in and out of the woods or if I see some does further out that my bow cant reach.

Might as well get this thread started now.
I'm a fair weather hunter, but I consider fair weather between 0°-110°f or days that end in Y.
One of my farms, we hunt crop damage in july. It gives the fawns enough time to get weaned. This year we are stopping Aug 6th. It gives the deer a...
Does anyone have an opinion for a gun mounted camera? I might be in the market for one soon but would like one that has decent video quality especially during the shot. Also looking for something that is kind of sleek with easy to operate controls and no beeps or flashing lights (for hunting)...
Has anyone here used a Promag safety for a Mossberg 500?
I installed one but now I'm basically getting 3 positions for the safety. Safe acts as normal, then it clicks into a spot that looks like it should be on fire but is still actually on safe, move the safety another 1/8" and it's on fire...
I have this Mossberg 500 laying around that I paid under $100 before shipping and ffl fee. It is 12ga with a 28” vent rib barrel with c-lect choke. The issues are the stock is cracked, the choke setting plate is missing, and the front bead is missing which also holds the end of the rib down. I...
Looks like for the 2016-17 deer season FHFH will not be doing doe harvest challenge, supposedly due to a lack of funding.
I won a bass pro gift card last year. This past Sunday I went to drop off some deer at my butcher and was informed that the challenge wasn't going to be held this year...
I'm currently working at a consulting engineering firm and we need mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and HVAC balancing techs. We are looking for people with a wide range of experience from recent grads to 10+ years. Our firm mainly designs complex HVAC systems for hospitals and higher...
It's nice to see in these times of being PC that somebody still cares about outdoor enthusiast. Accuweather now tells you if it's a good day to hunt or fish. Though I'm not sure what they are basing their advice off of. As the old saying goes a bad day in the woods is better than a good day work.
Over the weekend I got a message from jsuther about a wanted ad I had. The message seems like generic spam. Googling the phone number reveals posts on other sites/gun forums such calguns, longrangehunting about spam.

Thanks for the Mossberg 500 I got this weekend. Turns out it is a 500 AT which means it is a tactical model and has a slightly different take down than normal due to the anti-rattle features. Less than 24 hrs later I had the gun completely disassembled. The wood got wiped with murphy's oil soap...
