Nice pic but the glare off of Maryland Hunter is tough.

      Scout Rifles

I have the Ruger Gunsite Scout. I absolutely love it. For me it is perfect for whitetail in the mountains back home in Virginia. It handles great. The balance make it shoulder and swing like a good shotgun. I have the Burris 2.75 Scout Scope on it (the Leupold would be great too). It is...

      Sierra Bullet Factory Tour

Actually I had to be in Kansas City for business. I "modified" my travel arrangements to be able to make the trip:D. It's about 2 hours from where my meeting was. No pictures but I do have samples of almost every individual stage in the production process. Pretty cool. They say they have...

      MO to confiscate!?!?

I was speaking with someone just yesterday in Missouri. The most of the sheriffs have already come out and said they will NOT carry out any order to confiscate.

      Mikulski generic email response

I got the same response. Best thing I can say is at least this time it was all in the same font and type size. The cut/paste job of her last one showed me she and her staff don't even have the common decency to pretend to care.

      Sierra Bullet Factory Tour

It’s mid-February and I’ve not had many quality days at the range in a while. To find ways to scratch that shooting itch I scheduled a trip to Sierra Bullets in Sedalia Missouri. Shortly after I arrived I was met by Ballistic Technician Rich Machholz. In addition to his work at Sierra...

      ultra sonic vs tumbling

I went from tumbling to the Magnum Load and Lock, but am now back to tumbling. I can just let the tumbling to its thing, don't worry too much if I let it run extra hours and can just let it sit until I make time to deal with them. Which is better? Possibly the ultra sonic, but not as...

long distance shooting. Where do I start?

While certainly no expert, I will give you my opinion. For "long" range my first thoughts combined the areas of cost (not just the rifle and optics), range and hunting. To get started I would first eliminate any of the calibers that are expensive to shoot or hard to find in rifle, ammunition or...

      Reloading advice

Nitronut, I have all MEC's in 12, 20, and 28. The 12 gauge Grabber has produced thousands and thousand of rounds with very few hiccups. It is a great press. I have never used any others to give you a comparison. Bo

tips for flying with a gun

The only tip I can add to the conversation is get there earlier than usual. It does take time though the process.

      Best sub $1000 1911

I wasn't trying to stir things up it was just an observation that does effect by purchasing decisions. I thought it was worth sharing. To answer your questions...this guy had attended the US Training Center (Formally Blackwater) for tactical pistol just months before so I have to assume he is...

      Best sub $1000 1911

I was speaking to a SWAT guy from Denver. They had problems with some of their Kimbers and was told by Kimber they only warranted their pistols for 5 brands/types of ammunition. They won't be buying Kimbers anymore. At Gunsite back in April out of over 20 1911's used, only two had multiple...

      Reloading in Cecil County

I currently don't reload for 40SW, but do for other pistol, rifle and shotguns. Send me a pm with your phone and I will give you a call to see if I can help you out. Bo

M1A National Match or Colt H-Bar

I don't have a M1A, but my Colt HBAR is definitely a sub 1" MOA. I have only shot it out to 300 yds, and I love it.

Handgun shot placement to the left

My problem with shooting left was do to "chicken winging". Weaver with the support hand elbow not straight down.

A lesson in what not to do.

There are actually kevlar targets for "dry" practice for just such a reason. It happens way too often.:sad20:
