I have the same VP9 Tactical, it was my first handgun purchase.
After a rough first day at the range (wasn't properly lubbed) the gun has been perfect. The trigger is great and it just feels right.
I'm over in Gaithersburg.
that sounds like a pretty good offer, maybe we can meet up at a range some weekend? I'd be willing to trade up 500 rounds if you want. The rounds I bought are PPU green tip 5.56.
Is joining ACG a good idea for me if i live in Montgomery county? I bought 1000 damn rounds of green tip ammo I cant use at TMGN (i'm a member there). So i'm looking for somewhere to shoot them!
VP9 owner here, to be fair I ran into quite a few issues my first time with the pistol. I broke it down cleaned it and lubed it and ever since i haven't had one problem. 115 and 124 grains shoot fine.
I hope it runs better your next time! I'm loving mine.
Good news, I cleaned and lubed my VP9 and took it to the range. The gun functioned perfectly. It didn't seem to have a whole lot of grease in it so maybe it was too dry. Awesome pistol!
I have shot a few pistols in the bast and never run into Ftf issues, but I suppose it's possible.
I'll give it a good cleaning this week and see if that helps.
I'm thinking you might be right, I did shoot it straight out of the box. Once I can torque the stupid barrel threat cover off I'll strip it and clean it.
Also I'm not knocking the gun, I figure it might just need to break in. Out of all the guns in the past I've used this one feels...
I have a del-ton Echo 316. I have nothing to compare it to since this is my first AR. I haven't had any failures yet, but 2 of my gas rings came off within about 4 months of purchasing it.
So I just purchased my first pistol! A VP9 Tactical
I tried the PPQ, but I just like the feel of the VP9 a bit more.
I love the gun, but I ran into some FTF issues, and the slide locking back on empty every other mag I put through it. Is this most likely due to breaking in the gun...
I think it all depends, I usually go on Saturday. Most of the time i get either instantly on or wait 20 mins or less.
I love how NRA is 50 yards it's just such a pain in the ass to get to in traffic.
Thanks for the well wishes.
That's what I have been reading, The price is pretty nice with the rebate. Hopefully I'll get a chance to shoot both before I make a decision.
I applied for my HQL on 06/19 and it's already showing approved today. I'll update once I receive the card, but this was way faster than I had expected!
Hi All,
I just wanted to say hi. I'm a pretty novice shooter, so far I mostly just plink my AR-15.
I just recently completed my HQL course and have my application approved, Just waiting on my card to pick up a 9mm.
Currently I'm debating either a PPQ or VP9 for my first handgun...
