      As the title says, if I am starting from scratch, is it advantageous to buy a bull barreled rifle if I am going to have it threaded for a can? I haven't decided on a caliber yet, but I'm leaning to .300 winmag.

      30 round 5.56 vs 10 round .458 Socom

      OK, so a 30 round AR magazine meant for 5.56 is illegal to ship to Maryland, but the same exact thing works as a .458 SOCOM magazine, and the capacity is 10 rounds. So, if someone were advertise and sell "10 round .458 SOCOM magazines" would they be legal to ship to Maryland?

      My first old gun

      Here is what I found while shopping at a small gun store today on the taxpayer's dime. Round one of cleaning has ended. Tomorrow I'll do the wood, finish up any of the metal I missed (like the surface rust on the bolt face), lube it, reassemble it, and test fire it.
