Another problem with the two piece barrel is the fact that you can’t replace it on your own. Smith uses a proprietary tool to remove two piece arrangement. You would have send it back to the factory for that kind of work.
Any competent gunsmith can swap out a crush fit barrel.
I agree with the comments here. I owned a 1943 Mosin 91/30. It was a crude gun, but I loved the history and the heavy hitting round.
It’s sad that all of these once affordable toys are no more. Rising prices often mean increasing demand, which is good. But, we’re losing the entry level priced...
I purchased an original Colt Series 70 from them, and was happy with the transaction. Their prices are a bit high but they are professional and often carry hard to find items. Their selection of Lugers is among the best I have ever seen, anywhere online.
My experience is that there are three positions people hold on gun rights:
1. Pro 2A
2. Anti gun
3. Don’t really know or care
The anti gun folks do their darndest to turn the third group, into their fold by scaring them. This poll shows that a lot of people are normally ambivalent to the...
A folding Springfield M6 Scout rifle. It was a .22/.410 combo. Although it wasn’t an original, I knew the Air Force used something like it in the 50’s-70’s.
I bought it from Schelin Guns in College Park. I still have the original receipt. It’s curled up, yellow, and fading. The rifle is still...
Rather than have the entire card preprinted as a “form letter” which is just signed maybe a few blank lines could be incorporated so people could add their own words, much like people do with store bought Birthday cards.
With the internet these says, your local gunstore should be able to ascertain an ETA for the rifle, and track it once it ships. As a personal policy, whenever possible, I try not to pay in full for an order like this. I feel like the local store tries to get the item in faster when I make...
Do all of these collector prices and values only apply to Glock Gen 1’s? I recently sold a Glock 22 Gen 2 (Three pin) in excellent condition with box and paperwork for $300. I’m starting to worry I may have hosed myself. The buyer was a bit too eager to buy the item.
For what it's worth, I had a few Glock 17 mags and replaced the springs. They worked fine for me, but they are definitely not as heavy duty as the originals. When comparing clear mags, my impression is that these are step down from Lancer magazines. I'm not a fan of clear mags for anything...
Although a smaller show, I really enjoy attending this one. Lots of vendors that aren't always at Nations will there, and if the weather is nice one can make a whole day out of attending and then checking out the battlefields.
Just out of curiosity, how did you learn how to put this together? Are you a gunsmith, or did you learn on your own. I've been tempted to take a CMP class to learn how to make my own M1. They also have lots of great resources, available for free online...
I personally love my Ruger PC9. I can use Glock mags for it, which I already have. I’ve been thinking of a Springfield M1A in 6.5 Creedmoor (I believe it’s still legal in MD).
