      Gun Stores in PA (Close)

Hanover Custom Firearms. I know this because I recently moved to PA and live about a mile from there now. Great little shop with great people working there (used them for a transfer). They also had some great deals on specific items for black Friday. That said, they are small and do not have...

      9mm 124gr JHP?

Agreed. The 147 hst is also good to go. Actually I think all hst except .380 is pretty good to go. The .380 hst seems to be a bit disappointing, unfortunately. Either doesn't expand at all and punches too deep or expands and falls well short of the 12" minimum. The hydrashok deep seems...

Supreme Court remits MD assault weapons ban back to lower courts in light of Bruen vs. NY ruling

I feel like it's inevitable that MD loses this case. That said, how far can MD stretch this out with "games" once they lose? Can they do stupid things like implement a licensing scheme for their so called Assault Weapons that requires expensive courses, long wait times for processing and...

Wanted: Cheap .22 handgun for a kid

In that case, the Ruger Wrangler is good too... Just a little more expensive. I think more like $200-220. I actually like the way the Heritage looks more... But won't deny Ruger probably makes a more consistently better quality gun.

Wanted: Cheap .22 handgun for a kid

What about one of those heritage .22 SAA clones? They are like $120-$150 and have good reviews from what I've seen. It's on my short list later this year when I'm no longer a MD resident...

      Kel-Tec 2000 fractured frame

Wow... very surprising and boo on Kel-Tec. My experience and the general feedback from others is that they are usually all about the swag when they screw up. An exploding gun is a pretty big damn screw up so for them to do nothing over and beyond is no bueno. I love my sub2k but it would...

      Kel-Tec 2000 fractured frame

Hmm... So looks like they are saying the plastic mold was defective? I don't know that I've seen any other reports of this anywhere so it was likely just one of those freak things. Did they throw in any free extras? Would be shocked if they didn't... They threw in a free mag when I sent mine...

      Kel-Tec 2000 fractured frame

Yeah several years ago at least because I had to send my gun in. At the time I recall on the forums that .40 was likely not impacted at all and Kel-Tec was just being super cautious. My gun was fine and they just stamped the barrel to show it was tested. Which is why I wonder if this is...

      Kel-Tec 2000 fractured frame

I see you learned of the recall. But if this is a new gun with a new manufacture date then that recall may (should?) not be applicable. Definitely interested so please keep us updated!!!

      Kel-Tec 2000 fractured frame

Yikes! I've put hundreds of rounds through my .40 model without issue but this is definitely a concern with a very plastic-y design. One of the few guns I have that I feel like I could easily snap in half if I wanted to... Do you know the year made on the gun (I know you said brand new but...

Handgun/caliber criteria for live fire requirement?

Ha, just catching up on this thread - lots of good (and funny!) discussion. For those instructors that chimed in - I definitely respect your position and agree that range time can be more valuable that class time. I'm not an ace at a pistol so I'm definitely open to taking a class that meets...

Handgun/caliber criteria for live fire requirement?

General question - are there defined pistol/caliber criteria for the live fire requirement for wear and carry permit in MD? Could someone use a .22 short or a 500 S&W magnum if they wanted to? Part of me thinks it would be hilarious to see either extreme pulled out during the test... another...

      Application progress banter thread

Thanks! I'm one of his references and hadn't heard anything but I also don't answer random numbers and if someone doesn't leave a message they don't get a call back. Didn't want to be a cause of any delays...

      Application progress banter thread

Quick question as my buddy applied with military training class exemption - Are they actually contacting references? I know it was determined that they were not in first batches after the ruling but not sure if anything has changed since then... I'm still holding off as I can't afford the...

      gx4 ?

I've been looking into this model pretty heavily. It has a known trigger issue that the trigger dies if it's not pulled straight back. Multiple trips back to Taurus doesn't address the issue long term. Look into it before making a decision if you are looking at it for a SD gun. It doesn't...

      2022 PA State Politics Predictions/Expectations?

Looking more and more like a move to PA may be happening. I see the House and Senate are Red but the Governor is a Dem. What's the prediction/expectation for this fall? Will house/senate stay red with a possible move to Repub Governor? Most of the online resources I see make it seem like the...

      PA CCW

Brought this up on another thread but, with new ruling that carry is a right, I wonder what it would take for PA to change laws and issue out of state without home state permit? Not much incentive for them to enforce that anymore, is there?

      SCOTUS & CCW in DE

I didnt realize DE was so strict. From everything I'm reading, they accept Utah permit, right? Just do UTAH and avoid all that craziness?

      PA non-resident permit?

So... How does today's ruling potentially impact a MD resident without a CCW getting a PA permit? Couldn't a case now be made that as a right, a state must issue a permit to all those requesting without qualifying criteria (like needing a home state permit?) Exciting times... :)

NYC CCW case is at SCOTUS!

This goes to my point exactly. They don't care. Hell, this may actually result in more gun control legislation for consideration than there otherwise would have been. They are openly hostile to the SCOTUS - many of them see current SCOTUS as illegitimate because Orange Man Bad and Orange Man...
