I am just full of questions today...
I just bought my new season hunting license today at Walmart. Got my regular license, bow stamp, MD Migratory bird stamp and the federal duck stamp.
The federal duck stamp date says "9/18/14-11/01/14." Why does it say that? Does it not last the whole...
I'm tearing my house apart and can't find the #&$%#@! plug that came with my semi-auto. Can someone confirm that I do NOT need a plug for early goose? That seems to be the impression I get from my guide--
A retiree at work just celebrated his retirement and bought himself a new crossbow. He's selling his old one, which is by no means old, actually. $80 and I get a nice recurve crossbow with a red-dot sight.
Might be some bambi hunting for me this fall!! :party29:
I have a Winchester 1400 MkII semi-auto shotgun. It's an older gun and uncommon model that I got from my former FIL, who had had it for many years. At some point, the fore stock had split the whole way down and been repaired with glue or epoxy of some sort. It now slides up when you fire it. I'd...
UPDATE!!
I have booked a hunt with K&D Guide Service (see link below) on Friday, September 19th. It will be $150 per gun. 8 bird limit. If you are interested in hunting with us, please PM me.

A buddy of mine wants to go sea duck hunting and rockfishing this fall for $125 per person. I'm considering going, but last time I went out on the Bay rockfishing I got really motion/sea sick. Dramamine didn't help. Anyone have any other suggestions for curing my motion sickness, either OTC or a...
Tried a search and didn't see this posted anywhere.

The crappy part is the highlighted/underlined part. So they can help to raise funds for the club, but when it comes to...
I took my Marlin 60 to the range today and it was jamming with almost every single round. This is the first time in a year that I have shot the normal bulk ammo, not plated, and it sucked. Is it just the cheap ammo or does it warrant further investigation?
I've always primarily been a catch and release fisherman, and have only ever kept a tiny handful of stocked trout. I've enjoyed hunting and eating what I've killed so much this year, I think I'd like to try going fishing with the intent of keeping what I catch to eat.
Anyone willing to share...
Anyone gone on, and had success, at a Rocky Mountain Elk Hunt? Share some stories with the group? Pics are required as proof of course.
Was looking at Cabela's outfitters hunts... drooling and dreaming... and it's so expensive... but man I'd love to do it one day.
Anyone know if they have specific hours for non-members versus members on the weekend? Was contemplating heading out there one day this weekend for a round of trap with a friend.
Spent the evening playing with the turkey call set I got for Christmas. I watched some videos on YouTube and am pretty good with yelps, purrs and clucks on the box call, but I can't seem to get the "cutting" call to work on the box. I seem best on the slate call. Haven't touched the diaphragm...
Anyone know of any turkey hunting guides in Western MD?
This is my 2nd year hunting and I have successfully goose hunted and been on my first duck and deer hunts (no success yet, but a great time). I'd like to go on a turkey hunt this spring, but I really don't know much about it so I think a...
So I was reading this article in Outdoor Life.
http://www.outdoorlife.com/blogs/hunting/2013/10/minimalist-waterfowler-how-take-more-ducks-and-geese-less-gear
It intrigues me, but seems to depend on finding small creeks and rivers and ponds. Possible on private land, for sure. But is it...
Got up at Dark O'Thirty today with a friend to drive to another buddies place and meet up for a goose hunt in Hampstead! It was hella dark, foggy the whole way out, and raining on and off, from light drizzle to harder rain. When the sun rose we could barely see 40' in front of us, but as the...
So I want to get a toy for my baby cousin for Christmas. He is almost two years old-- his mom and dad are lovely people but not very outdoorsy themselves and I want Vaughn to have the "option" to be in the future, if he'd like. I'd like to pick him up an outdoorsy type of toy. I think he's too...
I've got my clothes in the wash with the "no scent" stuff. Gonna lay them out so they are ready to go. Gotta be up at 3:30 to meet my friend at 4:30 in Carroll County to head out.
So freakin' nervous. I feel well-prepared on paper, but a nervous wreck in reality. Am I a good enough shot?? I...
I was reading about their native Elk herd up there and it sounds intriguing. I remember when I was in college there was talk of introducing elk into the Shenandoah Nat'l Park in VA, but it was shot down, seeing as how there's two major highways on either side. I'd love to see and elk in the...
In collecting vintage firearms... what's a good first gun?
I love military history and war paraphernalia. I think it would be neat to "collect" pieces of history.
Was thinking maybe a Mosin Nagant, as they are reasonable priced but getting less common- maybe now is a good time to get one...
