Shipping to an out of state C&R

I'll throw in my 2 cents/my understanding unless I'm wrong (ask my GF, it happens a lot). If you are shipping a long arm, you can do it USPS or common carrier to a FFL03 C&R holder out of state as long as it is legal for them to receive it (ie don't violate any state or local laws on the...

      H&R 922 from the early 30's

Nice example of one with a "Bird's Head" frame. The Top Break ones are sorta like the 922 model as well it seems. Sold for a lot of years with lots of variations and different names... Special, Sportsman, 999, ect. A nice older one like you have is on my wish list. Thx for sharing.

      H&R 922 from the early 30's

Got me. Maybe if I get Goforth's book it will provide some insight. My H&R Garand is on par or better then any of my other post war manufactured examples as well in my experience. Of course it cost me the same as the others from CMP :) The 922 was sort of a low end 22 even for H&R it seems at...

      H&R 922 from the early 30's

That is interesting. I had no idea they made flare guns, much less followed similar designs. I looked at some more pics on the internet and it seems the frames/grips were very much the same in many cases. I saw some others with what I believed was called the H&R birds head frame as well on...

      H&R 922 from the early 30's

Haven’t posted much the last few years given I’ve moved out of state and have been trying to shift more toward shooting my collection rather then expanding it. But winters are long in Vermont and the shooting range has been snow covered for 100+ days straight leaving me with nothing to do but...

      Check out this old shotgun

So, looks like a slide action to me and as I would expect slide back, action opens, hammer cocked... but in the other pics it also looks like slide back, action closed as well? I have a takedown slide action Winchester model 97 but the action closes only when you slide the action forward...

Aim has Chinese Type 54 WITHOUT the abortion safety

Nice. You never know with the X grades. Sometimes you get a shooter that is ugly, but shootable, sometimes you do much better. I ordered an unissued Russian trigger on ebay awhile back. It took like 6 weeks to show up, but it seems to be about as close to the Chinese originals as I could...

Sauer 38H - Matching Numbered Mag Reunited

What a great stroke of luck. Congrats.

      Any Negatives

Small correction to the above statement. You don't have to keep records of ALL firearms you buy and sell after you get your C&R. Only C&R firearm acquisition and dispositions are tracked in your bound book. Firearms that are not C&R qualified you can track however you want.

      Is this Garand wear normal?

They already switched again so don't look for that case if you have an order in right now. Cases are more generic/universal again and not fitted like that one.

c&r handgun shipped to mayland proof

I used that letter to convince a dealer in NJ awhile back to ship to me as the revolver I was buying was C&R qualified. That letter is a little long in the tooth though now being that it is 16 years old but its the only thing close to 'PROOF' I've ever seen.

      C&R transfers out of state

I assume you are referring to C&R handguns between C&R holders who are MD residents performed outside of MD. I have seen nothing to add clarity. Some folks say its OK, others say it is not. I decided it was easier to just move to another state.

      CMP service grade M1 Garand

While GCA has a very nice publication, I went the cheaper route and joined the M1 Collectors Club the last few years. Its currently $14 a year. http://www.m1collectorsclub.com/

      CMP service grade M1 Garand

As an FYI, I mailed in my latest CMP order for a Garand 9/25 (a Winchester to round out my collection). They processed the paperwork late last week, and based on the forum notes it will probably be processed by sales and ship in a week or 2. Just to level set your timeline right now if you...

Regarding C&R license renew, in a different state

I moved a few years ago and it was painless. I had to complete a form for the address change and I had to notify the new local law enforcement Chief if I recall correctly (just like you do when you applied for it), but it was pretty quick. I moved far enough away (to a new ATF region) that I...

      In Stock NOW!

My replacement showed up today. It is in better shape. Magazine fits/functions, the trigger guard isn't dented so bad the trigger drags, and it doesn't look like someone tried to ream out the chamber with a drill bit. Finish is 90% plus too this time. Its all CZ50 (ie not a refurb with CZ70...

I haven't gotten it yet. I assume it will be ground, the same way they shipped it.

      In Stock NOW!

I didn't hear back from them via my email last Thurs evening so I called them today. They picked up right away. I explained that not only was the trigger dragging due to a bent trigger guard (bent in and sideways), it looked like someone tried to ream out the chamber (I found that when I did a...

      In Stock NOW!

Will do. I haven't heard back yet. I might be able to tweak the trigger guard enough it stops dragging. The magazine is awful. Hangs up something fierce. Not sure why without breaking out the micrometer and doing some measuring. The two mags I have for my other cz50 work great in it, but...
