DE to stop honoring NR permits

Yes, Open Carry is allowed (not banned, therefore allowed). Vehicular carry is also allowed, however common advice is that it must be visible from the side windows to be "open"... so, a holster on your hip isn't a good idea. I typically suggest a nylon holster wedged between the passenger seat...

      Cabelas $20 off $150+

Flyer in today's mail... code for online orders "17SPRING" gets you $20 off an order of $150 or more "exclusions apply". Code is C17SPRING for in-store orders, but I think they want to scan the flyer.

DE Prison Guards Taken Hostage in Smyrna Correctional Center

The sign didn't say anything about tickets, so I assume they'll have something set up on site.

DE Prison Guards Taken Hostage in Smyrna Correctional Center

I actually heard the opposite, that some of the other prisoners protected her from that. She was held hostage until the SWAT teams breached the walls and went in hot, so I hope for her sake that they really did protect her. It's believed that the CO (Sgt Steven Floyd) died early in the...

DE Prison Guards Taken Hostage in Smyrna Correctional Center

Situation "under control" per the scanners about a half hour ago. I was waiting until the news had it before I posted. I believe that they've let the hazmat and EMS crews clear and go home just before 7am. No official word on the health of the last 2 COs.

DE Prison Guards Taken Hostage in Smyrna Correctional Center

almost 20 hours in... 2 COs still held. Rumors about their status are not good, sadly. Of course, the nutjobs are advertising on facebook for a pro-inmate protest for 10am. Also hearing about another "protest" to have started at 6am at two points on Rt 1 (the main highway here), but can't...

Any suggestions on the best days to attend (or avoid)?

Is Del heaven for fleeing MD Shooters?

Not true... for private sales, NCIC check is not required for close family or if the buyer has a CCDW. The permit process isn't too bad, but will cost around $500 total and a 3-7 month wait for it to be processed. "May issue" officially, but denials are rare. The folks vouching for you...

      casing storage

Thanks for the tips, folks. I've got empty bookshelves in my new "gun room", I guess I'll use the lower shelves for empty brass and the easier-to-reach shelves for boxes of loaded ammo. Hopefully post a photo after the new year of my setup, still need to work out what to do with the laminate...

      casing storage

What are your methods for storing empty casings? I've got a lot of brass laying around that I need to sort and store. I don't reload, yet... just saving it up for when I start. I've sorted some while watching TV and put them in ziplock bags, but I'm sure there is a better method.

      Tapatalk Spamming

I run a few other forums that use the Tapatalk plugin, the problem is certainly with Tapatalk. There isn't any way that I can tell Tapatalk to spam the users. I had that happen to me, suddenly getting notifications about 2 forums. I had to go into the app and turn everything off.

      TSS - Avondale

Couple things I forgot to mention... Open Carry is not allowed, there's a sign saying something to the effect that besides concealed carry, all guns must be unloaded and cased. There is a clearing barrel just inside the doorway for that. In the range rules, shotguns may only fire slugs, and...

      TSS - Avondale

No mushroom smell, that's mostly on the south side of town. ;) Wow! This is nice. I'm posting from their free wifi... Big store, open floor plan, but not a lot of big accessories... No safes or bulk ammo. Very well lit, feels very modern. I'm sure that the store side will grow over time...

      TSS - Avondale

Haven't been up, yet... but, heard great reviews from a few friends and a guy at Elk Neck last week. Mainly about the range being a lot better than TargetMaster... apparently the lane dividers are armored so the chances of getting shot by the guy in the next lane is pretty low. And, you can...

      Columbus Day Elk Neck

Columbus Day is a state holiday for Maryland, so the range should be good to go for 9am.

      Elk Neck RSO Question

The brand, model, caliber, optics, accessories, etc do not matter. It's how they're handled that determines where they can be used at the ENSF range. If you hold it away from your body like a pistol, it goes on the pistol range. If it has a stock/brace and you put it against your shoulder, it...

      Elk Neck RSO Question

Sadly, the rules have to be both specific and vague enough to be effective, especially when factoring in the "lowest common denominator". It'd be awesome if we could look at a shooter and say "you're, cool, you can control that 7.5" AR pistol on full-auto, have fun on the rifle range". But...

      Elk Neck RSO Question

ENSF RSO here... If you shoot it like a pistol, it stays on the pistol range. If you shoulder it (we won't ask to see NFA paperwork, ever. that's your problem.), then it goes on the rifle range.

      Gun Safe Recommendations

Those are both fairly similar, except for their locking mechanism... the Winchester uses bolts, the Liberty uses the bar style. The Winchester doesn't tell the steel thickness, but it's about the same weight as the Liberty which uses 14ga plate. So, nothing to write home about... two guys with...

      Gun Safe Recommendations

Save up your cash and hire a good safe mover. The good guys have hand trucks with jacks that can make it almost a one-man job. The store you buy the safe from should be able to recommend somebody.
