Looking for recommendations for live fire CCW courses after receiving my W&C permit. I’ve done a few tactical classes, but now looking for concealed carry specific courses. I would prefer here in Maryland but nearby PA, DE, VA or WV will work too.
Thanks for any suggestions.
For my 45th birthday, I decided to get a 45. I've always had an affection for SAA, so I decided on the Taylor Smoke Wagon Deluxe, a tuned Uberti. I haven't had the chance to shoot it yet, but oh how good it feels in the hand.

Some friends of mine in Texas have taken training from this group before, specifically with Stephen Powell, I signed up for the Defensive Carbine Class. Stephen has been instructing for over 18 years and in addition to Patriot Outdoors he is a Sig Sauer Academy instructor.
Just a few options...
There are a couple of threads floating around but most are filled with fluff now. So can anyone chime in on where we stand with Hogan doing anything to help with Wear and Carry permits? I thought by now he would have made some move, but so far I haven't seen anything. Are we SOL with him? Any...
I bit the bullet, drank the Kool-Aid, and dove in head first.
Yep, just picked up a CZ EVO3 Scorpion from 2A and already put 50 rounds through her.
The good: Accurate as hell! Magazines don't need an uplula, rounds press straight down. No more magazine thumb.
The bad: get the safety...
A buddy of mine out in West Texas is an instructor and puts out training videos. I don't normally share them here, but this one is very unique and discusses an important but overlooked topic: checking the fit of a pistol before you buy it. Well worth the watch.

A MUST read for Self Defense.
A Texas LEO friend shared this yesterday. I'm not LEO, but I completely understand where this guy is coming from.
Bottoms line: criminals and terrorists don't play by the rules. They don't care about "collateral damage." They just want to either get away...
I've been a fan of Colion for a while now, but this is quite possibly his best monologue yet.

Sorry to create another thread, I tried searching but I didn't see a dedicated thread. Could someone please direct me to a good resource or previous thread for refinishing C&R? I have a 1903 Springfield with some rust spots and in need of general mild restoration.
Thanks for any help.
An interesting read from Red State.
Seems as though gun control votes aren't as popular as some legislators first thought.

I've been saying it for a while: don't...
My father lives in Texas and wants to give me his Springfield. I'm heading down in a month and will be bringing it back with me. I've applied for my C&R but I don't know if it will get here by then.
Since this is a family transfer, do I have to take it through a FFL once I get it back here? He...
Even the people working for Bloomturd admit that gun control laws proposed to Congress would not have stopped mass shootings.

Damn, I really liked them, too.
But once again, it's in reaction to idiots trying to make OC points by bringing AR's into the store.
Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD...
Just saw this posted. Sounds like a great SHTF gun.

Anyone know if/what the restrictions are for carrying a folding knife in NY city? Heading there this weekend.
Thanks
(PS, not my choice, I would rather not spend $0.02 there.)
So this is a new one that I would love to try. 9 holes, golf style scoring, with a rifle!

Anyone ever heard of or tried anything like this? Looks like a blast, too bad it's in Utah.
Does anyone know of any relatively local youth camps that include riflery in their activities? I remember most of the ones I went to as a kid had .22 marksmanship (actually, all of them except for church camp.) Granted, this was 30 years ago in Texas, but still my daughter would really like to...
