I completely understand that the founding fathers made comments like the one in the graphic. I was looking for some other source that attributed that exact quote to George Washington.
I reposted this on Facebook. Its legitimacy is being called into question. Does anyone know if there is any substantiation to the claim that he said this?
Perhaps it won't be read; perhaps it will be read. If enough people show they they understand these concepts, and the reasons why they hold our legislators responsible for their (in)actions, then we will be heard eventually.
I have been drafting a letter to our legislators. I am submitting it here for comment. You have my permission to use it as your own letter, and to make any modifications that you would like to make. Distribute it freely; I would like to see it uses by as many people as possible, and I would...
That's absolutely true. However, people nearly always portray it from the wrong perspective. If people really understood this, we would not have the usual debate of the meaning of the second amendment. Even our president talks about the rights that the second amendment provides. It's unnerving.
Everyone here is an enthusiast of freedom, and we are also enthusiastic about our natural right to self defense, which includes the right to keep and bear arms. We all also know that gun control doesn't work, or the cities with the strongest and strictest gun control laws would be the safest...
Thanks for the support! I would really like to see this attitude adopted as the general belief, rather than how things are normally portrayed. The perspective of any amendment providing a right (and thus being open to interpretation) is of grave danger for all of our natural rights.
I am a staunch and unshakable believer in our natural right to keep and bear arms. This is something that is fundamental to a free human existence. As individuals, if we have the right to live (not be murdered), then the right to keep and bear arms is essential.
I am often dismayed at the...
None of us like the laws that deny us an unalienable right, but I didn't think that the review board was very condescending. The issue at those meetings wasn't to evaluate or interpret the second amendment, but to enforce the law by reviewing the applicant's need. I'm sure that my comment...
The idea of a cool-down period becomes silly at best when you already own a firearm. I understand that it could very well be an outdated law that predates the electronic information age, but many people refer to it as the cool-down period.
That sounds like a great plan. I am sure that you will be pleased with PSA! Instead of an expensive/upgraded lower parts kit, you'll probably enjoy some sort of red dot optic much more.
I must have missed a clear answer somewhere, so forgive me for asking what is probably a very obvious question. Are .308 receivers regulated the same as 5.56/.223 receivers? Or are .308 receivers cash and carry? I have searched quite a bit but I haven't found anything definitive. Thanks in...
Did that case some with your rifle? I am looking for a plastic case for mine but I don't want to spend too much. It will be mostly for transporting it to the range.
Very nice AR by the way!
It's not that I have any particular complaint with the Storm, but I really love the AR platform. I love the FCG in the AR, and I love the look. And the price of 9mm ammo doesn't hurt either! (One of the reasons why I like 9mm carbines)
