Thank you for all the suggestions. He passed his Hunters Safety course and will be getting a 20 gauge. He shot one yesterday and did well with it. I have discussed it at great lengths with the gun guys in my family and a few friends. He's ready. I guess I'm ready now too.
As far as the...
I think this is why he suggested the 20 gauge. He's growing quickly. I do not want something that I'll be replacing in a year. We're going to test a few this weekend and see what the boy can handle. I'm curious to know myself. I'm not much of a shotgun person myself, but I want to learn. The kid...
He wants a shotgun. The course instructor was quite adamant about the 20 gauge being a better gun for him. He actually made a comment about .22 not being what he'd recommend because I assumed that he would recommend one. It always seemed to be the first gun in my family.

I'm pretty sure that I sent in our application in either March or April. I didn't realize that they had that long of a wait list. Well, I sent him an email. :fingerscrossed:
Does anyone know if they've filled up all of their spots this season? I sent in an application a few months back and have not heard anything. I just sent them an email hoping with a positive reply. After waiting 88 days for my gun...I want to start shooting on a regular basis!
