      Is 22 dB enough?

Bottom line is always double up. Going deaf is no fun. Especially if you could have prevented it.

      Is 22 dB enough?

What they are saying is the reason for the non-doubling of protection is due to the sound getting "absorbed" by the body. So, according to their calculation, 30 plus 5-10 dB would put it in the 35-40 dB range. Our Academy actually says additional 10-15 dB protection so that's the 45 dB...

      Is 22 dB enough?

Ummm.... so are you agreeing with me or disagreeing with me?

      Is 22 dB enough?

This is correct. Even if you have two devices that are rated at 30 dB noise reduction, you will actually end up with about 45 dB decrease. In fact, if you have some sort of magic ear plugs that were rated for 100 dB noise reduction, you would still only get about 45 dB reduction. Why...

      Sig P238

Do you actually notice any big difference in the SAS vs. non SAS version?

      Sig P238

Picked it up this past week at Freestate and went back there today to break her in. Cleaned and lubed prior to the range trip. Fired 200 rounds of Winchester white box. Shot it fast...shot it slow. Shot full mags.... partial mags. Flawless. It was pretty filthy after about...

The interview... for a CCW Permit?

Not sure if you saw my post. Not only was there no interview for the renewal but they didn't even call my references. Not that I am complaining.......

      Airgun for Kids

Hahahaahahah....that's funny. :lol2: Yeah.... definitely plan on having him wear eye protection. If he goes down from a ricocheting BB, I will need to toughen him up a bit. <HAN>

      Airgun for Kids

Thanks for the reply but I think you missed the part in my post about my not wanting my son to handle lead pellets. I had a ton of fun as a kid shooting pellets into phone books (made for great backstop) so I know how the pellets deform and not really ricochet. <HAN>

      Airgun for Kids

Thanks for the replies so far guys. As far as "BBs," I know they are not made of lead but I was concerned about them bouncing off the target/background and becoming dangerous. I know.... I know... I am probably thinking too much into it but I guess I am over-protective of my boy. Will...

      Airgun for Kids

Hi all, I am looking to get my son (6 y/o) into shooting and gun safety. I thought starting out with an airgun would be best. Then gradually get him into .22 cal. I have done some research online but not sure which would be ideal for the boy. I originally started out planning on just...

I just died and went to heaven!

I am a big fan of Sigs but that color just doesn't do it for me. Give me the good old black utilitarian finish and I am happy.

The interview... for a CCW Permit?

As far as the interview goes, I would agree with everyone who posted above that talked about the actual process. Mine was very professional and even friendly. As for the renewal, I sent in my application a good 5 months before the expiration and even then, I got the card about 3 weeks...

      Gun Lock

Thanks for the replies so far, guys. I used to have two of these locks but it's been a while since I got them and I can't find them now. I have to suck it up, I guess.
