lock time is prety much pointless, sounds like you got one hell of a rifle going. I would only try to push you away from .308 to something cooler. like 260 rem

no they have differnt headspace. likely I think the firing pin would dent the primer pushing the round forward in the chamber not having enough energy to detenate it. if it did go off I dont think anything good would happen.
