I just switched out to a Criterion Barrel 18” with 1:8 twist and rifle length gas. It’s tapered from the throat to the muzzle to help dissipate heat. Check out Criterion Barrels.
Case feeder for sure and the second best addition is the spent primer catch with tubing. I run mine down into a coffee can.
Put a .45 acp case on the primer rod top to give it just enough weight and add a .45 case to the primer ski ramp so they don’t fly off.

I still have mine and I’m thinking about selling it because it never comes out of my safe.
I added VZ Operator II grips in OD Green but still have the original wood grips as well.

You're comparing apples and oranges here. I have a 2011 and yes when holstered with a mag inserted and a round chamber my pistol has the safety engaged prior to my draw. When I drop a mag and insert another I do not engage the safety nor do I or anyone else engage the safety on our shotguns...
