When I was younger and poorer I bought a BCA complete 7.62x39 AR for $300.
Then I took the remainder of my budget and signed-up for Clandestine's AR Armorer 101 class.
The rifle had only one minor flaw in it's manufacturing, the gas key screws, which we replaced in the class.
I still have the...
I had my hands on a 527 in 7.62x39 at Duffy’s a few years back, seriously regret not buying that rifle. I was finally able to add the Ruger American Ranch in that caliber to my stable this year (and I’m thrilled with the Ruger), but I still think about that CZ.
If you're looking at mounting a picatinny base and then rings, I would recommend rings direct to your receiver. I use the Talley rings on my Bergara and have found them to be fantastic. They have 20 MOA options as well. It's also a lot nicer on your wallet.
There is truth to that, but not the whole truth. As @E.Shell eludes to above, Optimum Charge Weight load development can produce ammo with results that are not rifle dependent.

If you want to shoot past 600 yards go with the Federal GMM 175. The 168's are great too, but destabilize at longer range. Many people like the Berger 185 as well, but I don't have any personal experience with it.
Out of a 20" barrel, I'm getting 2,500 fps with the Federal GMM 175, with an...
Which is a great reason to compile an area study, even if you have lived in the same place for 30 years. Review it at least once a year and make updates. Have paper maps on hand for your area and surrounding communities, both road and topographic. USGS TopoBuilder is a great tool that allows you...
I’m running a Leupold VX-Freedom Rifle Scope 3-9x40mm CDS, with a simple duplex reticle. Stayed under $400 for glass and rings. I am going to chrono with the hunting load I use and get the custom turret ring from Leupold, just didn’t have time to do it before this past hunting season. This is on...
Can someone please explain to me how you get a negligent discharge from a properly holstered pistol?
If you are concerned about the gun spontaneously discharging that's a different discussion, but negligent implies something else entirely.
Throw a foam wedge on the holster and I haven’t found a more comfortable way to carry.
Also, I avoid playing with the trigger while it’s in my pants. Some folks like to live dangerously, but I’m risk averse.
In most instances, carrying a gun is less comfortable than not carrying a gun.
If you are fat AIWB would certainly be more uncomfortable and impractical than other carry methods.
Antithetical? I’m not sure how you’re coming up with that one.
