That would be a safe assumption.
I guess my question is geared more to if we'll see a decision soon in the AWB case now that the HQL decision is out.

If its the same judge, I would have expected her to sit on her dissent in this case and the AWB to postpone for years, if necessary.

$50 for the 1st 10 ,Voter's Qualification Kicn$20 for next 10 years. That’s not going to break the bank. The seminar/live firing with an LEO/Instructor I found truly helpful specially for the missus. Same sentiments shared by female goers in our class who had a lot of scenario questions to ask the LEO/Instructor. IMO the HQL is redundant as you would be going through another background check when buying a firearm anyway. So why 2 background checks with the HQL’s going to be outdated in 30 days time? I did it for the kicks of an HQL card that would have my photo and name on it that’s 2A specific in MD. No real time wasted being at the range with the missus doing some training together. Now will the HQL attainment process filter out crazies? No! Will it prevent bad guys from obtaining firearms illegally? No! Is the HQL as waste of time? Maybe! It’s just a thing that can be made unique to MD like Old Bay.
I think you should have to pay $50 for a civics course, be fingerprinted then submit paperwork to the government for a VQL, Voter's Qualification License . The government has 30 days to approve it before being allowed to apply for your voter's ID card. You must then still wait 7 more days before you can vote, and the VQL must be renewed at a state determined interval for additional fees and refresher course as well.

It sorta makes me glad that Trump pressured the Pentagon to give the cloud computing contract to Microsoft instead of WaPo's owner at Amazon.

I was completely opposed to Amazon getting the contract with the Pentagon. It made no sense in any way that a company who is owned by the same man as well as owning the WaPo could be trustworthy. I could see a backdoor to Pentagon servers being written into the code that allows the WaPo the ability to access it for exclusive reporting scoops.

Don’t need one. I’m entitled to my opinion. I’m still able to enjoy my 2A Rights despite the hoops placed in it’s path that are infringing. Not everything is bad just because everybody else says it’s bad or everything good just because the everybody else says it’s good. I know how to tell the difference and decide for myself how I want to make things work for me while i’m still above ground. If you’re all up for spending money on civics classes, Biden voters sure could use the help.

You don't see to comprehend what the difference is between a right and a privilege.

It's not a right, if you have to ask the government for permission.

Privileges are for when the government gives permission to do something...

Maryland and any other state that wants a safer gun owner should offer classes for FREE! These classes also need to be voluntary. They can have State Police handle the instruction and/or they could have each individual county Sheriff's office do it. But to require education which has cost associated, to exercise a RIGHT, should be illegal.

These classes should be available on a weekly bases though out the State at NO COST. If they want to make sure people have range time, I can see a cost that is paid to the private ranges, for use of their facilities. Outside of range fees, it should be free. If the range is government owned, such as Elk Neck, there should be no fee outside of their normal fees. They also need to make that old video, I had to watch to get that paper permit (prior to HQL) needed to purchase a handgun, available again. Maybe make more videos sanctioned by the State for people to watch at they wish.

I think they should give away 150,000 firearms. It's only fair seeing as they are giving away 150,000 laptops. "Free" Laptops Good thing is, they will now be able to get IDs to vote. :sarcasm:

    Details.

When can I go pick up my new toy without an HQL or 77R.

The link is appreciated but unclear to a layperson.
    Probably never.

The State has 14 days to appeal, or to request an "en banc' review by the 4th Circuit Court.

The lawsuit never challenged the 77R background application or the 7 day waiting period.

What's the actual deal with the 77R other than it being used as a money maker, at $10 a pop, for the State. Do they do anything more than process the NICS checks?
MSP does a full background check of about 18 databases, PLUS a NICS check.

The same process used for the Handgun Permit.

Is the MD AWB tied up at 4CA also because of Keenan?
No. Three different Circuit Court Judges heard this case.

Judges Paul V. Niemeyer and Julius N. Richardson focused on language in the high court’s New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Inc. v. Bruen decision last June that based on the Second Amendment’s history states cannot ban guns that are in common use by law-abiding citizens for a lawful purpose, such as self-defense.

But the panel’s third judge, Stephanie D. Thacker, disagreed. She told attorney Peter A. Patterson that the banned weapons have been used not for lawful purposes but in mass shootings.

    Thanks.

Got Thacker mixed up with Keenan - although the only thing to know about the two is that they are anti-2A.
