Actually no experience needed. They love blank slates so they can mold them.Good gig for a qualified candidate.
When I was a first year apprentice there was a 60 year old guy in my class. How is it for a possibly middle aged old fart? Is this more of a young guys kind of gig? I am extremely mechanically inclined and usually way better than average on the Bennett tests, but the old body isn't what it once was.
It's got it's ups and downs....
It can be an uplifting experience. And some of the clients can really push your buttons.
The trades are a great option. All of the skilled trades are an excellent path for anyone willing to work hard. steamfitter, electrician, plumber, elevator constructor, etc.
I have done some work on the Howard County Applied Research Laboratory (more or less a vo-tech high school), might not hurt to look into putting fliers up there?
Nice, who did you work for?I retired from Local#10 a 'few' years ago. GREAT opportunity for a young person who is not afraid of work, and has a brain. 42 years of 'wreslin alligators' will buy a comfortable retirement. EXCELLENT medical, and retirement benefits.
You could even run away to the Texas Hill Country!
