Thanks. I've scoured the interwebs looking for any address other than the main courthouse location and came up empty. I figure I'll have to wait and see.

Found it in one of the other PA carry permit threads

Update: My application went in to the York County sheriff's office at 5:00 pm yesterday and was approved just under 17 hours later, at 9:45 am today.

I'll be checking out the satellite office soon. Thanks for the guidance!

I submitted my Application on Sunday, July 16th, and was approved on Monday, July 17th at 8 am. I Picked up my Permit from Pleasant Valley Rd. today at 10. Very nice, efficient people....Unlike Merryland.

Congrats. I got my PA permit a few months back, also from York County. At the time, the satellite office was backed up for appointments so I opted for the courthouse. Parking really sucked but otherwise a fast and pleasant experience. When its time for renewal, Ill likely use the satellite office though, mainly because of the parking issue.

I saw this thread last night and applied online with the York Sheriff's Department. I Submitted the application at 12:05 AM today, and had the license in hand by 3:00 PM today. I had a delivery in Lancaster, PA and got an email that my application was approved. The email instructed me to make an appointment. So, I decided to take a chance and stop by unannounced. I checked out the location of the Satellite Office at 2401 Pleasant Valley Rd, York, PA 17402, and determined I was 12 minutes away going South on 30/Arsenal Rd. Boom! They hooked a brother up! Not a joke, you Dog-Faced Pony Soldiers! These folks in PA are nice. I'm not used to that! Might be time to move, right?

You got that right. There was one Sheriff manning the entry and a desk with two women. There was nobody else there. When I gave my name, they said they just saw my paperwork, and found it right away. You'll need your Driver's License and Carry Permit. They do everything on the spot. You get a nice picture ID, good for five years. Again, these folks were awesome. Good luck!

Anybody been to Adams county for out of state permits lately? I seem to remember a post above somewhere they stopped doing them.

York and Adams are about the same distance for me but I might meet a buddy from VA that wants PA too and Adams would be better for him.

I couldn't find the answer when I searched.

Do any of the sheriff offices issue non-resident permits on a walk in basis?

    Thanks

You have to send them a copy of your new MD permit when you renew every 2 years. Or they pull your permit until you do.
