Anyone have an opinion on these?
This is the reason I got one for my wife. She has shoulder/ hand issues, plus she’s a trigger snob. The EZ has a decent trigger, because it’s hammer fired. I thought she’d enjoy the trigger. she grew up shooting single action revolvers and 1911’s and hates pretty much anything else. Lol.They are excellent for folks who can’t rack a standard slide because of medical conditions or poor hand strength. There are better guns if you don’t have that issue
I’ve worked a couple gun shows with Genesis Firearms. We sold a ton of them. This is the reason I got one for my wife. She has shoulder/ hand issues, plus she’s a trigger snob. My wife owned one until recently and liked it very much. Mags are a little expensive but they are well made. I changed the sights to Fiber Optics and it was pretty accurate out to 15 yards. The trigger is pretty crisp after you break it in and you never notice the grip saftey.Anyone have an opinion on these?
At the time we took our test, my wife was shooting the EZ9 a lot, so she took it to qualify. Her and I were standing there in the “next group” to shoot, when she asked me “what did you bring?” I told her I had a 1911.I used the EZ when I had to do a qualification test when my left arm was broken. I couldn't get a good grip with an arm with a compound fracture in a cast. Good gun and it has its purpose.
Put it in the classifieds. My wife bought the EZ 9mm for her first gun because the slide was so easy to rack. After a bit of practice she upgraded to a shield Plus. She is willing to sell the EZ. It's in mint condition. $325.00
My wife shoots my 1911 best also.At the time we took our test, my wife was shooting the EZ9 a lot, so she took it to qualify. Her and I were standing there in the “next group” to shoot, when she asked me “what did you bring?” I told her I had a 1911.
She asked “you want to switch?” I told her sure! The instructor got a big kick out of it. She did very well with it.
I realize I need to quantify "Many hours..."; sorry 'bout that, Chief. After a break-in period, with both of my EZ, I have fired thousands of rounds, and never had a failure due to the grip safety. I put my shooting hand high & tight, and all works well.I purchased the S&W M&P 9 Shield EZ m2.0 because I have severe arthritis in my hands. It is indeed easy to rack the slide. I also purchased the Performance Center version (could part with the original, or keep it for parts).
Many hours of holster draw-fire-reholster has baked the grip and the external safeties into muscle memory.
I think the grift safety “problem” is being blown out of proportion. Thanks for the replies. I didn't think about the grip safety being an issue. I honestly don't see my wife or I firing “thousands“ of rounds out of one of our handguns.
We'll keep looking.
