And...if you want to submit any testimony or voice an ppinion on any proposed legislation, including SB 0001 the "Gun Safety Act 2023" you must first set up a MYMGA account.

To set up an account, go to the MGA website here:

Then, click on the "MYMGA" button on the upper right corner of the page. Then follow the steps to set up your account. Then get in there and comment.

The period for requesting in-person and the submittal of written testimony will close today at 3:00 PM!! If by 3:00 PM today you have not submitted written testimony, or requested to appear in person for live testimony you will be out of luck.

If you want to make your voice heard please set up your MYMGA account and speak your piece ASAP.

Kinda seems counterproductive, you have to release your privacy to get your right to redress.

As far as I know there is no actual validation of information to create an account other than having a valid email address that needs confirmation.
However I do provide my full information on the bottom of my written testimony.

    Thought this read may interest

Good article, thank you for sharing it. It was interesting to hear what Elizabeth Hilliard of the Office of the Public Defender is saying. I look forward to reading and hearing her testimony.

The Office of the PA never testifies on any bills. Doesn't mean that won't be the case this year, but I highly doubt it.

I initially thought the same but when I looked into it I found that the Office of the PA does indeed offer testimony on some bills. I found a couple of examples, including this one here: https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/cmte_testimony/2022/jud/1r7Lh5_tgnInrg_9VrjlekTfwOFAd5gE5.pdf

I don't know if she will submit testimony on any of the pending 2A bills but it'll be interesting to learn what she says if she elects to do this.
