You do realize that the bills you mentioned have their own threads?

It's kind of how we do things around here. :innocent0

Gee whiz, no more hunting license revenue, no duck stamps, deer over proliferating, car deer accidents, deer eating residential Howard, Frederick, Montgomery County lawns!

This passes my boys and I won’t buy any hunting or fishing license in Maryland. We will do without.

Wasn't there a time when USCG was under one department since they mainly engage in S&R and drug law enforcement, but moved temporarily to DoD during war? I could be wrong, but I thought I either read that or saw it in a documentary oh so many years ago.

Correct, they were at one time under the DoT. During times of war they are transferred to the DoD and become the hard nucleus around which the Navy forms.

The state's selling a wear and carry permit and then making its use illegal amounts to conspiracy and fraud by the state legislature,
In my opinion, this is how you fight this bill.
"Hey MGA, you want this? Fine, scrap every single bit of your permitting scheme because you have just proved it is worthless. You can send my refund check for all my fees, classes, and time to my home address thank you. Oh yeah, after I get my refund check, WWNC"
I'm with Lazarus though. Where does it specify wear and carry permit holders? It doesn't, this is a broad restriction on firearms. Wearing, carrying or transporting. I do not see any carve outs for hunters, only LEO, security and military going to post. Maybe that wasn't their intention, but with the wording, in my non-legal scholar interpretation, it appears that's what they did.
Agreed, but they have now proved just by the submission of this proposed bill that the permitting scheme is complete bullshyt for "safety concerns" and is nothing more than the fraud in the previous quote. They need to understand that the options are 1) Keeping the permit process in place, or 2) getting sued for Fraud.

Yep, they will de-fund an entire State agency and take a big bite out of Federal stamp revenue. But hey, hunters, they aren't coming for your guns.

It just boggles my mind that the stupid just increases annually. Its serious Twilight Zone material.

Navy still technically owns some vessels like the ice breakers.

And yes the Navy has directed CG in times of war

This is just like the Charles County attempt for ban firearms. They mucked it up so bad, they were making changes every five seconds to get it to pass. That itself would show it was a move to get around Bruen. My understanding is NJ law got struck down, in a sharply worded decision, Judge Renée Marie Bumb of the U.S. District Court of New Jersey concluded that a half-dozen restrictions in the legislation, adopted less than three weeks ago, were “so extensive and burdensome” that they rendered the right to “armed self-defense in public a nullity. It is also my understanding that the law failed in the Historical context as well, as there was no prior history of dictate where legal conceal permit carriers could possess their firearms. It should be up to the firearm carrier to determine where he/she can legally carry-on private property. It should be posted at the entrances of the building just like you have to do for trespassing. My understanding is the state already has a law which states this. It is simply “Feel Good” legislation and a political statement that will have absolutely no impact on deterring crime, creating impossible obstacles for responsible firearm-owning citizens to navigate. Murder is already a law, hold the highest of penalties and in some states, you forfeit your life.
