AF...always there when you need us.Freakin zoomies, always mucking up a thread with information that can be found in other threads.
You do realize that the bills you mentioned have their own threads?
It's kind of how we do things around here.
Right you are - I guess I didn't realize that it had moved, although it's been there for 20 years. See, I do learn something new every day.Incorrect.
It falls under the Department of Homeland Security.
Correct, they were at one time under the DoT. During times of war they are transferred to the DoD and become the hard nucleus around which the Navy forms.Wasn't there a time when USCG was under one department since they mainly engage in S&R and drug law enforcement, but moved temporarily to DoD during war? I could be wrong, but I thought I either read that or saw it in a documentary oh so many years ago.
In my opinion, this is how you fight this bill. The state's selling a wear and carry permit and then making its use illegal amounts to conspiracy and fraud by the state legislature,
Agreed, but they have now proved just by the submission of this proposed bill that the permitting scheme is complete bullshyt for "safety concerns" and is nothing more than the fraud in the previous quote. They need to understand that the options are 1) Keeping the permit process in place, or 2) getting sued for Fraud.I'm with Lazarus though. Where does it specify wear and carry permit holders? It doesn't, this is a broad restriction on firearms. Wearing, carrying or transporting. I do not see any carve outs for hunters, only LEO, security and military going to post. Maybe that wasn't their intention, but with the wording, in my non-legal scholar interpretation, it appears that's what they did.
Yep, they will de-fund an entire State agency and take a big bite out of Federal stamp revenue. But hey, hunters, they aren't coming for your guns.Gee whiz, no more hunting license revenue, no duck stamps, deer over proliferating, car deer accidents, deer eating residential Howard, Frederick, Montgomery County lawns!
This passes my boys and I won’t buy any hunting or fishing license in Maryland. We will do without.
Navy still technically owns some vessels like the ice breakers.Wasn't there a time when USCG was under one department since they mainly engage in S&R and drug law enforcement, but moved temporarily to DoD during war? I could be wrong, but I thought I either read that or saw it in a documentary oh so many years ago.
Wonder what would happen if Sheriff's swore people with W&C licenses as posse?Title 14 U.S. Code § 522, 523, and 524 - Law enforcement
(B) THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO:
(2) A PERSON WHO HAS RETIRED AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER 2 IN GOOD STANDING FROM A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY OF THE UNITED STATES, 3 THE STATE, OR A LOCAL UNIT IN THE STATE; 'm
I'm covered so is every Active Duty Coasty along with Retired Coastys
So who else is going to ignore this and carry anyway. It's so blatantly unconstitutional that you can pretty much guarantee a court win and payday.
Indeed, it does, and they don't reside in the Pentagon, they are over by Bolling at the "Little" Pentagon with Homeland.Incorrect.
It falls under the Department of Homeland Security.
DoT as in Treasury. Where they ever under Transportation?Correct, they were at one time under the DoT. During times of war they are transferred to the DoD and become the hard nucleus around which the Navy forms.
For the entirety of my father's 30-year (1969-1999) career, they were under Dept of Transportation.DoT as in Treasury. Where they ever under Transportation?
Homeland Security nowAnd yet it falls under the Department of Transportation, not the DoD.
First I must ask, did the MOCO sheriff testify in the gun communities' favor during past sessions?Wonder what would happen if Sheriff's swore people with W&C licenses as posse?
Gee whiz, no more hunting license revenue, no duck stamps, deer over proliferating, car deer accidents, deer eating residential Howard, Frederick, Montgomery County lawns!
