I’ve been itching for some new hardware lately and saw Berretta has a $100 rebate for the APX A1 carry. So I see some online vendors have it for $299, with $100 rebate, being only $199 (plus tax and everything else), makes it pretty tempting to jump on. I know everyone has different likes, etc, and I don’t usually buy anything with at least handling one first, but for $199 I may take the chance.

Anyone have any experience with one, or know of a place in AA county that may have one on the shelf (or nearby, would much rather support brick and mortar instead of buying online)

    Thanks!

I have one, I’m not impressed and I say that as a bit of a Baretta fan boy, My PX4 has always been my go to. for me it’s the trigger more than anything, the reset is great but the pull is gritty and seems inconsistent, not sure i can describe it any better. I think the look is great and the other ergonomic features like the slide cuts work well. $200 isn’t a bad price though and there seems to a good amount of accessories available

Man that’s a bummer about the trigger. I love my 92fs and am hoping this would be a nice carry piece the possibly replace my .380.

I've held and shot the full size. I was impressed, and I don't like striker guns. Saying a striker gun has a crap trigger is redundant. They all do.

Good ergos, goes bang and as accurate as its contemporaries. For $200, you could do a lot worse

This site is awesome! Thank you!

Play around with the opaque feature, where you have two pistols stacked on top of each other and you can make them fade in and out. Hours of fun!

Also check out the Diamondback DB9. It's very small, cheap, and seems to have a good reputation.

The P365 seems to be the one to beat, though. On that one you can easily switch the entire lower frame for longer or shorter grips.

I have the prior version APX Carry. Other than appearance, it's not like the full and mid sized APX's. Under the skin it's basically a Nano.

The trigger pull on mine is pretty long and heavy compared to a full sized striker fired pistol - by design since it's intended to be a pocket pistol (It's a DAO action IIRC).

I like mine. Slips into just about any front pant pocket discreetly in a DeSantis Nemesis holster. Has been reliable. Not any harder to shoot than any other micro 9 IMO.

The A1 lightened the trigger and toned down the slide serrations.

P.S. It was a b!tch to get my rebate from Beretta.

It appears that Beretta has rebates on several other handguns. Tomcat/Bobcat, PX4 Storm and Beretta 90-series also have $75 rebate offers if purchased before 1/1/2023.

Good to know! I hate rebate programs for this reason. I feel like they’re all designed to sell you a product then hope they can find a way to deny the rebate.

I'm skeptical of rebates because they're usually set up to make it extremely difficult to actually collect the rebate.

I went through a long struggle years ago to collect a rebate on a Makita drill. I finally won, but it was a long, hard fight.

Make sure you follow the fine print (possibly written in Linear A) of the terms and conditions. They want you to get discouraged and give up.

Placed the order last night. First time buying in MD so I guess I’ll see how this circus goes. Between MD rules and Beretta rebate I’m sure I’ll be swearing a bit for awhile, but seemed like too good of a deal to pass up. Been a little while since I bought a new one. Pretty excited to hit the range when it comes in.

I don’t agree with that, My Walther PDP has a great trigger. I think when I compare the APX to my other Barettas the trigger is the let down. Everyone gets along differently, I dont like Glocks but there are good striker triggers out there

I will gladly put a factory SAO 1911 trigger up against the best safe striker trigger on the market, factory or aftermarket.

We are just gonna have to agree to disagree here.

At that price it’s worth picking up several. If you find yourself defending your castle and one is “temporarily” confiscated, your not left naked.

We’ll, picked it up out of jail today. First impression was what happened to the hard plastic cases, new gun came in a cardboard box. I guess supply chain shortages, saving the planet, or saving money. Anyway, not really an issue, for the pistol itself, seems really nice for the price. My main comparison is next to my Ruger LC9s. The APX is a little wider, and has way more aggressive grip texturing. Almost like 60 grit sandpaper. I do like the grip and feel of it more than the LC9s. However, the LC9 has a way better trigger. The Beretta does have a heavier and not as crisp trigger.

As for the rebate, it was an online form which was simple to fill out. My only concern is in the fine print it states they need a clear copy of the original purchase receipt with the S/N listed. I put my transfer receipt which has the S/N scanned with my email receipt, so hopefully that suffices. Easy process, hopefully the check is here in 8-12weeks. If it plays out, I’m really happy with the purchase.

Hoping to get to the range next week and put it through the paces.

P.S. My first Maryland purchase. I find it a little interesting that the email from MSP states “You’re not dis-approved” instead a simple approved.

Thanks for the description. Ruger is a tough competitor. There about my favorite. Enjoy the APX on the range. In through the nose. Out through the mouth.

We got to take them at face value on their offer. Surely they’ll come through. Probably not an offer worth testing two or three over. Please let us in the world of MDSs know, if they prove unworthy of our business.

By the way, I’ve not had the privilege of buying any fire arms here. Is this jail like a several day cool down period so you don’t go postal?

This was my first Maryland purchase. My understanding is that regular long guns can be bought same day, but what Maryland considers “restricted” firearms, (handguns), there is a 7 day waiting period from purchase to pickup.

I’m excited to get it to the range to compare with the Ruger.
