I hated that SAS by the way. Neat idea but I don’t like entirely covering the target with the slide.
That's called "back plating". There's nothing wrong with it, as you can't get any better boresight than right behind the barrel. You should try shooting without using sights with any of your pistols. You'd be surprised how well you can land good self defense shots.
The stupid sight on the SAS is useless and is more of a distraction.

Can you put a standard 356 grip on a 365X using the same mags that come with the X or would I need to get standard 365 mags?

That’s an interesting take. Aligns with some parts of the video you posted the other week about instinct shooting.

The standard P365 will use the 12 round X/XL mags 'as is', but really should use the adapter floorplate to avoid potential damage to the ejector by over-inserting the magazine with too much force.

New 12 round mags come with the flat floor plate installed, but include the 'pinky rest' adapter, or the adapters can be purchased separately for some exorbitant amount.

    Left-to-right:
    P365X/XL 12 round mag with standard X/XL flat/flush floorplate.
P365X/XL 12 round mag with P365 adapter floorplate.
P365 10 round mag with standard P365 'Pinky' floorplate.

Do you have issues with holster with that grip?
IWB I have found 2 that fit well; the MIE Javelin and the ANR Design A.C.E. 365 IWB Kydex Holster that you can buy directly from Icarus. The ANR has a lower rise in the back, and is a bit more compact so its a bit more comfortable for me with better access to the safety. The MIE has better retention and when I have some time over the holidays, I'll trim down the rise on the backside of the holster. Eventually, one of them will be part of an Enigma system setup.

OWB (my range only allows OWB for holster draw range work), I'm still looking. The original MIE OWB Boreas did not fit, but fit my stock XL/Wilson Combat grips perfectly. I'm thinking it was labeled incorrectly after manufacturing. The IWB fits so well, I can't think its a production error. I'm waiting to hear back from MIE if they are just going to ship another or want me to return the one that doesn't fit first. ANR has yet to offer an OWB at least on their website (and contacting them via their chat, its on their radar but no time frame given). I've contacted Tulster (I love their Contour OWB for 365XL) but they would not consider making me a semi-custom Contour to fit the Icarus grips. Also looking into the Tacrig Flex that has an option to fit the Icarus grips.

Icarus list of recommended holster manufacturers that they emailed me at the end of November is as follows:

    LAG Tactical: https://www.lagtactical.com/icarus-precision/
    ANR Designs https://www.anrkydexholsters.com
    Havok Holsters https://havokholsters.com/product/valkyrie/
    McKinatec Holsters https://www.mckinatec.com/collections/frontpage/products/mth1-appendix-rig
    Tac Rig https://tacrig.com/product/flex-iwb-package/
    Triad Holsters https://www.triadholsters.com/kydex-holster-sig-sauer-p365xl-achilles-iwb-inside-the-waistband/
    Shapeshifter Concealment https://www.shapeshifterconcealment.com/shop/p/icarusiwblight

    Hope this helps.

    How weird county
P365X Macro. Absolutely love how this gun feels in my hand. Previously P365 SAS with 12 round mag and hogue slide on grip. The SAS is challenging to be precise with. Any other P365 has better sights. Regardless I like the way it shoots and conceals and never felt its accuracy was anything worry about. Normal P365’s even with the 12 round mag’s just barely allowed a 4 finger grip. 3 fingers with the 10 round mags. The Macro is totally different animal. Full 4 fingers, 17+1 rounds and it feels great. Great control of the gun. So far I feel concealing isn’t a problem at 3 o’clock IWB wearing untucked polo shirts. I think summer will be fine.
I agree with everything right here

I've done the full progression with my P365 XLs (I have 2)....

    Stock XL grip
    XL grip + Hogue
    Wilson Combat grip
    Wilson Combat + Talon Tape
    Icarus ACE Evo
    Icarus ACE Xmacro

For me (and my meat hook hands), the Icarus XMacro grip has them all beat. Not as concealable as the Evo, but it really improves grip comfort and shootability. And no "pinched palms"! If you don't know what I mean, you either haven't put enough rounds on your 365/X/XL or you got tiny hands....... :-)

So...keeping one in XMacro w/Spectre slide as a blinged out range toy and other in Evo for Carry....

Mine was a "regular" that I put in an XL grip frame...so kinda the poor man's X...if that man is too poor to expect to use an optic or flat trigger

I left it on today while I was trying to do a quick plumbing project between errands. Somehow, my untucked workshirt caught the clip as I was on the step ladder frantically trying to align and twist pvc fittings before they set up, and it went clattering to the floor. No discharge (from the pistol, at least) It came out of the holster, but the mag stayed in and it was still fully in battery. Good to know SIG got that "drop safe" thing figured out :o I have a pretty good idea which part hit the concrete floor first. :(

:secret: it's the rear sight...which is slightly out of focus :rolleye12 ...like it is supposed to be ;)

I put a regular 365 in a WC xl module, upgraded 2 12 round mags with magguts, swapped the trigger for flat (not a terribly difficult job), extended mag release.

Uh oh. You know what this means, right? Now you’ll need to get an X slide with an optic cut so this can’t happen again.

Yellow bus special or British SAS special?
In this regard SAS stands for Sig Anti Snag. Which is just a marketing ploy. I never had a P229 or any other pistol snag on anything.
The only snagging pistol I can see is a revolver with a full hammer, trying to come out of a coat pocket.

An optic probably would have shielded the sights...that's kinda like the old joke about a $300 TV blowing to save a $0.30 fuse, right?
And a new holster with a real clip.

    Glad you weren't hurt Art.
It's a Vedder...which USED to have the Blaster seal of approval :rolleye12. That damn clip typically fights me when I TRY to take it off, and has even cut me before. :sad20:

Well, I am still a Vedder fan for other guns that TENICOR doesn't cover :)
