Suppressor advice?

I'm dedicated to asr mounts.

some brands suppressor will except the will except the asr mount so you can use your asr muzzle devices. i have the same issue. i have a 36m and a octane 45. so all of my rifles have asr flash hiders. i was looking at the yhm turbo for a 5.56 can and from what i read you can use the bravo asr mount in the turbo.

That is correct - YHM T2 and Turbo will accept the SilencerCo ASR Bravo mount.

I am getting serious about purchasing my first suppressor for a Ruger American Ranch in 308. I see that its much faster to be approved for a self build.
I have researched the solvent trap method and am leaning that way,but have a question.
How effective are they for suppressing a 308 in supersonic?
How about subsonic?
I want to hunt deer with it with shots between 50 and 100 yrds.

Mounts can run upwards of $100+ each. For the handguns, ...you will need a piston threaded in each caliber. 45 and 9 have different thread pitches.

This is true. Every gun company seems to have their own special thread pitch.

Have a few, but there are 2 that I would reccomend for someone getting into it to cover most things, the SiCo 36M and Rugger Oculus 22, they are extremely versatile, modular for full-size and compact K configurations, and have great performance.

The 36M is IMO the ultimate modular AR can, it's called an "Omega" but really it's closest to a Saker series, and built tougher than the Omega. I use mine with griffin taper mounts, and a plan A adapter, but any Sico Charlie mount will work, it includes the ASR. End caps are Charlie compatible 22, 30, 9 with or without flash hider. It has a 2" add-on baffle stack that makes a roughly 7" 16oz 338laupa rated can that is very quiet. Without the add-on it is a 5" 12oz k can that is pretty small and while obviously louder sounds fantastic compared to cans of similar size. It can take a pistol booster, 3 lug or DT adapters too for 9mm. The stack is welded, and not really serviceable, but if it gets dirty on a 9mm or 300BO you can just put a few 308s through it and clean it out, or take mounts/caps off and brush it out or maybe use CLR or the dip with a plug if it gets really bad. Run it in full config on a 308 or 300BO and it's really quiet, K config with 22 flash hider cap on a 5.56 AR, or K config with 30cal end cap for hunting.

There are a few rifle/pistol cans that can do rimfire, but they kinda suck at it, usually loud and huge compared to a rimfire can. 22s are a lot of fun, and really the only thing that comes close to hollywood quiet. The Rugged Oculus is pretty much the Omega 36Ms little brother being it can be run as a 3" K can or 5" full size. It sounds really good, and is hearing safe in it's tiny K config, pretty quiet actually on rifles. It's all steel, and easy to dump the baffles in an ultrasonic and brush out the tube with a steel brush in a drill.

If your pistol can can support it, I recommend getting the Griffin EZ-lok system. The piston is universal so only the pistols themselves need thread adapters, it has the added benefit of being a taper mount as well so no more needing to check if the can is still torqued:



I use it on my Obsidian 45 to switch between my FNX-45, Glock, and 509. No need to switch out pistons.

As far as rifle cans go I use a Griffin 30SD-K. It allows the use of any mil-spec A2 flash hider or any Griffin GATE-lok muzzle device so I can switch it out super quick between platforms. You can have your friends try it out on their 5.56 ARs with the standard A2s.
