A few months ago I picked up a gx4 as a potential carrier piece. I have a tx-22 competition that has been dead nuts reliable and is a pleasure to shoot so I had decent hopes for this gun. Well, I just left the range and I'm up to about 500 rounds down the pipe. So far I have not had one problem. The gun is what it is, small, light and snappy but that all goes with the turf. I often shoot pistol at 21 ft which is where I began today. I did okay at that distance, but when the target was brought in to a more realistic self-defense distance, things really looked up. I brought my sight Pusher tool today because I had a feeling things needed a little bit of adjustment. Lo and behold, when shooting from a rest it was apparent that the rear sight needed to be drifted just a touch to the left. Once I did this, I started to make tiny holes in the circle in the middle. Overall, I think that for the $300 I spent on this gun, it seems pretty solid. I've watched all the reviews with complaints of trigger reset problems, etc but, knock on wood, it seems as though I've gotten a good apple. I did not buy the Toro version because I prefer to carry without an optic to get hung up, but I may buy the Toro slide to mess around with. It's a little steep at $150, but whatever. I will let you guys know if I have any problems with this gun, but right now I'm pretty pleased and anticipate more trouble-free rounds. I will not hesitate to have this gun in the carry rotation. Literally my only two complaints so far are that the grip is a little short, which would be easily remedied with a Lakeline Pinky extension, and also that the texture is almost a little bit too rough for the webbing between my thumb and index finger. I'll take the blame for that, though because my hands have gotten soft now that I've been out of blue collar work for several years.

I have a GX4 and a TX22 as well. Most of my shooting is with the TX22 because of ammo prices though.

I like my GX4, but I don’t know if I’d put it above the Hellcat or the P365. It’s been reliable when I shoot it, but I can’t stand the rear sight on the GX4.

Indeed. Once I replace the rear sight, I can vouch for this being a solid firearm. I know some people look down on Taurus as the Ikea of firearms, but I really haven't had trouble with any of my Taurus firearms. I think it's a hidden gem for its price point.

Taurus has come a long way in the past 5-6yrs.

If I am interpreting correctly , it already made tiny groups at sub 20 feet , and now you moved it to the left ? How far right was it shooting before ?

To be an actual Pocket 9mm , tiny grip is the nature of the beast . And a secure grip on tiny pistol , even when hands are slippery with sweat/ mud/ blood/ etc is desirable . You can sand down sharp edges easier than you can put them back on . Or just wear a shooting glove for those 300 rd marathon range sessions .

If they consistently perform like yours . at about half the $ of the usual suspects , they've created their own niche .

Wait a minute ! IKEA has a Taraus - like reputation , and I missed it ?

Taurus has come a long way in the past 5-6yrs.

The xl seems to be having a unique failure where the pin holding the extractor breaks. It may be isolated and getting blown out of proportion. I haven't researched it. The longer slide and sight picture are definitely enticing, though

Their clones of semis and revolvers are pretty good it is when you look at their original designs it can be rather hit or miss. Though i have heard good things about GX4 line which I think is their "flagship" line.
