    Did you apply at the same time you requested cards? If so, they looked at your application and were missing prints.
    Did you send a separate $42 payment with your fingerprint cards? I thought I had paid everything online when I applied and sent my card in. My letter said "prints and payment".

    I called them and they had since received the prints, but needed the print processing payment. Sent that in same day and status showed approved within a week. Card is due in any day.
    I honestly dont remember what I did or did not do. I have the e receipt for 56.38 including the electronic fees. Thats about it.

    Then your letter is probably like mine; asking for print card (which they may or may not have by now) and the processing fee. Your total non-resident costs are about $97 + any 'convenience fees' associated with CC payment. I sent a USPS money order to expedite things when I paid for the print processing fee.

    How are the prints handled for an out-of-state resident Fla. permit?. I get the rest of the application.

    From their instruction sheet

    Fingerprint Card Instructions for All Out-of-State Residents and Florida Residents for whom electronic fingerprint services are not available:
    1. Your fingerprints must be taken by a Law Enforcement Agency.
    2. You must submit a complete and legible set of fingerprints on an original Fingerprint Card.
    3. Fingerprint cards may be requested on our website at:
    4. Electronic copies of fingerprints will not be accepted from out-of-state applicants.
    5. Detailed Fingerprint Card Submission Instructions are provided on page three of this document.
    6. Your fingerprint card will not be processed if:
    a. The required information is not contained within the designated blocks.
    b. A highlighter is used.
    c. The card has been folded, creased, or damaged

    Kanly has it covered, but basically, you request a fingerprint card from FL, get a local LEA to do it for you and then return the original card to FL.
    It doesn't help for Florida, but my PA permit was approved in 2 days.
    PA was quick for me too. Mine was done in 14 hours, overnight. Applied 8pm, approved 10am.

    They were very pleasant to deal with and very quick when I picked up at the York satellite office yesterday too

    So, is Florida accepting non-NRA MD W&C class documentation as proof of training or were your MD W&C classes NRA CCW classes?

    Not sure who you are asking, but I'd bet they would accept a MD course, although that's not what I used. I used my Hunter Education card for my first issuance and DD-214 for the last, because it was handy.

    Florida just seems to want you to have some sort of firearms safety exposure/experience and then leaves it to you, the responsible adult, to learn what is and isn't justifiable/lawful.

    Here are the proficiency requirements (see the bold red text below):

    https://www.fdacs.gov/content/download/26365/file/ConcealedWeaponLicenseApplicationInstructions.pdf
    Florida law requires you to submit proof of competency with a firearm in order to qualify for a concealed weapon license. A
    copy of a CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION or similar document from any of the following courses or classes is acceptable:
    • any hunter education or hunter safety course approved by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
    or a similar agency in another state;
    • any National Rifle Association firearms safety or training course;
    • any firearms safety or training course or class available to the general public offered by a law enforcement agency,
    junior college, college, or private or public institution or organization or firearms training school, utilizing instructors
    certified by the National Rifle Association, the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, or the
    Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services;
    • any law enforcement firearms safety or training course or class offered for security officers, investigators, special
    deputies, or any division or subdivision of law enforcement or security enforcement;
    • any firearms training or safety course or class conducted by a state-certified instructor or by an instructor certified
    by the National Rifle Association.
    The copy of the training certificate/document must be clear and legible. The certificate/document must include your name,
    your instructor’s name, your instructor’s qualifications/credentials (National Rifle Association instructor, law enforcement
    firearms instructor, Class “K” Firearms Instructor licensed by the State of Florida, etc.), and your instructor’s license/
    certification number.
    Other acceptable forms of training documentation include the following:
    • documentary evidence of experience with a firearm obtained through participation in organized shooting competition;
    • active-duty military personnel may submit copies of any of the following documents that confirm your experience
    with a firearm gained during service: military orders including call to active-duty letter; a statement of military service
    signed by, or at the direction of, the adjutant, personnel officer, or commander of your unit or higher headquarters
    which identifies you and provides your date of entry for your current active-duty period;
    • former military personnel can submit a DD Form 214 reflecting honorable discharge from military service.
    PLEASE NOTE: Any National Rifle Association firearms safety or training course, any firearms safety or training course
    or class available to the general public offered by
    a law enforcement agency, junior college, college, or private or public
    institution or organization or firearms training school, utilizing instructors certified by the National Rifle Association, the
    Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, or any firearms
    training or safety course or class conducted by a state-certified instructor or by an instructor certified by the National Rifle
    Association must include live fire using a firearm and ammunition as defined in Section 790.001, Florida Statutes, in the
    physical presence of an instructor.

    Yes, I have read the requirements. Just wondering what documentation was given to those using MD W&C classes to present to FL.

    Not yet. I mailed off my application and prints last week. They cashed my check on the 1st and I haven't heard anything indicating there was a problem with the application so I should be okay

    Turnaround time for me was 38 days. I guess not too bad. This was in the middle of the pandemic… My check sat at the office for almost 13 business days until cashed…

    The check shows cashed on 8/10/22. Also, I called the company that offered the training and helped students prepare and submit their Florida applications. I was told the Applications were sent in by mail as a bulk submission, so no individual application numbers for me to check.

    I mailed my application on 8-11-22 by priority mail with tracking number, they got it on sat. The13, the checks cleared my bank on 8-16-22, how long does it take to get your permit after checks are cashed? I checked the status and it only saying they have it and they have up to 90 days to issue or deny my permit

    My tracking says my application is complete and being processed check back in 7-10 days. I did have to mail a separate money order for the finger print/back ground check as I did not do it originally. So I have a a week or two more to wait.
