Hello! I posted in rimfire section about suppressor for 22lr. Decide to go with the Dead Air Mask at Engage Armament this November so now it's just a waiting game.
A couple of questions that I have from doing google searches (been going down the rabbit hole!)
I have a bolt action 223rem w/ wylde chamber that I was debating on whether to suppress. From google searches it seems there are opinions out there that it isn't worth suppressing rifles? That it's better to suppress only handguns.
What's your opinion on suppressing rifles? My 223 rem rifle has 22" barrel so adding the suppressor will add length and weight. So do I have the barrel cut down shorter and threaded? Leave barrel at it's current length and just have it threaded? How did you decide what to do?
I originally ordered the Dead Air Mask 22lr suppress for the Ruger 10/22 that has aftermarket barrel that's already thread for suppress. However, I also ordered Ruger Mk IV Target that's also thread for suppressor.
Is it stupid to order another 22lr suppressor for your other 22lr firearms? I thought it would nice to have dedicated suppressor for each 22lr firearm & maybe even try different brand to see which one you'd like? Any disadvantage of having multiple 22lr suppressor, other than cost and wait time?
Any mistakes that you made when you were new to suppressor that you'd be willing to share and what common mistakes to avoid or that you'd do over having the knowledge you have now?
Thank you for all your feedback, help and opinions!
Leo
