I also noticed that some vendors were just downright nasty. I also overheard multiple vendors complaining that most people were just eyeing and not shopping. They should know that anyone buying at a gun show is looking for a deal not MSRP. Folks can go to their local dealer and get a better deal then that and often better service. Prices are going to keep coming down and I think their holding out.

    That is pretty F'ed up

They were passing them selves off as Spikes. I was talking to them about the upper I'm going to order for my son and if the Lother Walther up grade was worth the money. They were saying things like 'our' in coming cost, talking to Lother Walther at SHOT about the barrels.

Your call, but if you know who they were, Tom Miller at Spikes may appreciate knowing about it. There are a lot more shows coming.

I managed to get up there at around 12pm - had some stuff to do around the house that prevented me from leaving earlier.

There were some good deals - one table had Saiga 12's for $450. I didn't see the 870 Police trade-in guns - they were probably gone. Did see some nice Wingmasters in the $275 - $295 range. Should have grabbed one.

I ended up with 4 .50 ammo cans in good shape at $9.00 ea and a Blackdog 50rd drum for my 10/22 for $65.

Agreed....the internet is an incredibly powerful tool as well and when I see the same 9mmx250 bulk pack Bass Pro is selling for $54 for $80 I have to wonder about all the other pricing of stuff at that table. I did see some decent pricing on a bunch of stuff that I didnt need (the Centurions and the 870's being the best) but I think this is the last show I need to go to...Ive been to the big ones in Richmond, Chantilly, and now York and basically other than those really nice gatling reproductions, the full auto stuff, and Top Hat no one is selling anything either unique or that is priced at a point that makes it worth the trip and I cant afford the gatlings or the FA stuff.

When i was there Friday the vendors were talkative for the most part. The only place that the people were rather brusk was the place with all the AR's and parts. I asked if they had a mid length gas tube and the answer was a no without any further interaction. He never looked up at all.

At gun shows I find ammo and odd ball stuff at a better price then on the internet or locally, but for firearms I'm going to stick with local dealers. I do wish I saw some of those berettas and 870's people are talking about, DARN!

the show was bitter sweet to me. My prices were a little high and vendors were unwilling to move on ticket price on firearms for the most part. I did find some deals on ammo from 2 vendors while browsing and scored 200 rounds of some 45 ACP. Also came home with a 10 dollar pocket knife and I was happy with the show, but not firearm prices. My brother went to buy but could not find anything in the reasonable price ranges for what he was looking for.

nice meeting you there, i was hoping your bro would get what he wanted.there's always the next gun show, what's important is to get what he really likes at a good price, it'll come.:)

Glad to hear you found what you wanted...... I know you were looking forward to picking up a drum. They are really easy to load, aren't they? My brother got a 120 round steel drum for his AR, that looks just about like those 75 round drums. Chinese, I think.

Was that the one that was all the way in the back along the wall (from the entrance)? If so please have him wipe my prints off of it. I put it back down when I saw the price tag.

I only go to gunshows any more to find the oddball stuff. Yeah there were some bargains today but you had to look around. I overheard a couple dealers talking about how the economy is effecting the gun show sales. I also saw some people checking online prices with their phones. I really don't mind paying a little extra to "local" people but 100%+ over online pricing is rediculous.

I went up Saturday afternoon and it was pretty empty compared to the last time I was up there where it was wall to wall people. Some of the vendors had shut down early too. Must have been related to that incident.

I must say, I walked the entire floor, and only three vendors even acknowledged I was standing at their table. And like I said it really was not busy at all. Two of them I bought from, and one gave me more info on suppressors then I ever needed to know (even after I told him I was just looking).

I'm new to shows and it might be awhile before I hit another. Like everyone's been saying, the prices just are not worth it.

And God Bless that old man selling Pmags for $15. He was the most polite and cordial person there. I will only buy my mags from him.

He is actually a Maryland resident. I alway end up finding something to buy from him at every show he's at. I chatted with him for a while and was trying to talk him into carrying more Magpul stuff. He said there were a few other dealers less then happy with his priceing on those. That may be all the more reason he will carry more Magpul items in the future.:party29:

I have ZERO issues with checking prices online. Heck with some of the items you'd be silly not to.

For instance my buddy was looking for 12 round Saiga 12 magazines. One table at 55, another at 45, another back at 55, another at 50. No "buy 3" deals or anything of the sort.

30 seconds on a cell phone and you get an idea about a "fair" price.

Some of the small AR bits were priced at store rates. While that's fine and dandy I'd rather support a local vendor if I'm going to pay those prices.

Really enjoyed the show today, not too crowded.Got to play with the new ACR.Fell in love with a semi-auto Bren gun.Saw a lot of fake stuff being sold by some venders though.Came home with 4 E.German phenolic mags,300rds of .223,300rds of 7.62x39 and my son bought an Eotech 552.Yea some venders were really nice to talk to,some others were real jerks like the guy selling fake grip pods. The old Marines selling raffle tickets were good people. Those M1 Garands were horrible, how could such a fine weapon be so disrespected. All in all a good day!

After trolling around the place I ended up with several Saiga 7.62 mags (only one vendor I found selling), side POSP optic mount for my Saiga 7.62, a 7.62 ammo can, and 500 rounds of Wolf 7.62 for $129.99. That was on Friday. Great day. I'm glad I wasn't there for the tragedy on Saturday.
