Somebody's kids went wandering through the woods behind our HOA and found a deer stand. They posted a picture on our Facebook page, and the Karen's are having a field day.

A field day about what exactly?
Last I heard, deer hunting is still legal, as well as being Caucasian. Still legal.

Apparently there's a rule against it on common hoa land, which this is. I've never seen that rule, however...

C&L just had a covid run through their shop

    I use Jerrod's, they're a good family shop

Sh!t, they have one of my does to pick up. I was planning on sitting for the evening tomorrow and picking up on the trek home. Thanks for the heads up; I’ll give them a call tomorrow and make sure they’re open...

Killed this one this morning from my front porch. 45-70 dropped him where he stood!

Nice deer! How painful is that 45-70 to shoot?

Thanks! She kicks pretty hard at the range. Shot about 15 rounds when sighting it in and it took a few days but my shoulder was pretty bruised. I’ll take the recoil vs having to track and drag further. Did not notice the recoil when I shot this deer. But then again I never notice recoil when bearing down in a live animal wether it be my 7mm mag or 12 gauge slug gun Must be the adrenaline kicking in.

I think that is focus. Like when I am goose hunting I never hear or feel the 3" 1 1/4 oz loads going off, don't hear it. I certainly do hear and notice the lack of a shot if I try and pull the trigger the fourth time though. :D

Funny how my ears never ring when hunting either. Come to think if it I never feel my 3 1/2 inch pump gun when goose hunting.

Yup. Its now deck season. For whatever reason they have decided that the ideal bedding area is within bowrange of my deck. Means morning hunts are a no go because they are concentrated at the entrance to the forest. Im not putting much food out. Its just whatever is left of a bad acorn year and what they think is good cover. Hot tub isnt coming until first week of January so no slug gun while in the tub hunts except for that special late weekend in Jan.
