So here is my situation:
I am considering getting a .45-70 rifle to use for hunting and to pass down someday as my wife and I currenty have our first baby on the way. Between a giftcard I got from my best-man as a wedding gift and rewards points on my Bass Pro card I currently have about $450 already set aside so the cost will be mostly paid for either way I go and isnt really a huge factor considering this will be a heirloom. Right now I am trying to decide between a Henry Single Shot or Henry Lever Action. The more I look into them and watch reviews on YouTube, I am liking the idea of having a single shot. I like that the single shot's barrel is 22in as opposed to the 18in on the the lever action, but would this make any real difference in accuracy? Figured some of you would maybe know. I am thinking this will be an under-100yd gun and I like using iron sights.

I was just wondering what any of your expierences or opinions on this are. I am open to other suggestions as well though I kind of feel at this point if I was to get a Marlin I would rather wait and see what Ruger does with them first.
Thanks for any insight you guys can provide.
