How many gun battles do you think you’re going to be in let alone survive.

If you lived in the Montana mountains probably never see a soul, so defensive ammo is not that critical. Now this area with its population density, you need defensive ammo, but eventually you will lose it.

FTR I have what I think I need, but probably never enough. :)

Don't know, but my plan has always been, shoot the ammo of your enemies. I don't see us being taken over by the commies. My ammo of first choice will be NATO in nature.

My plan is to be able to shoot any common caliber. Military or civilian.

    So, 9mm, .45, 5.56, 7.62x51, .30-06, 7.62x39, 7.62x54R, and, of course, .22 LR.

Because I sold 12k rounds at $0.75 per round that I bought for $0.29 per round?

That’s great, but do you have ammo to defend your family? Everyone should should have sufficient ammo set aside for needs.

The word sufficient should also be looked at in terms of exposure and situation.

It might be best to have multiple calibers to cover the various needs of you situation.

While I don’t think there is ever “enough” ammo. I didn’t get into shooting until a few years ago but I had the good fortune of meeting folks that advised me to buy a bit at a time. So I am good for defensive ammo and training/range Ammo for the next couple of years.

Probably a ps90 with a few 50 rnd mags loaded up for the car. Driving into a hostile crowd is probably a bigger risk than anything at home. Something compact/concealable with lots of capacity seems like a winner.

If you're talking T-zone shots then yeah, center mass I'd go with 2+

jokes aside if it's for defense, keep shooting until the threat is no longer a threat

if it's for defense against an invading foreign or domestic enemy, there shouldn't be a need for follow up shots because you won't be seen

Contemplating my next build for the current climate of violence and rioting and stuck on which barrel to use first. I have two brand new Colt Barrels, one is the 11.5 heavy profile FBI SRT and the other is the 14.5 heavy profile SOCOM.

Building it on virgin Knights Armament SR15 upper and lower receivers, with the KAC RAS M4 hand-guard, VLTOR A5 receiver extension, H2 buffer, Colt BCG and Colt LPK/UPK. Recommendations are welcomed.

11.5" is a nice setup. Would be better if it wasn't a heavy barrel though.
