I understood what you were trying to do. Some on here got it too. There were some who did not, even among those present. I was hesitant to say what I did because you are one of those who is there instead of just being a keyboard commando like some are. Unfortunately, the only people who saw you were those in the room at the time and a few who have watched the posted video. The rest of the senate did not see it, and that is the point. The law of unintended consequences. Some times it happens and only becomes clear in hind sight. Keep up the good work.

Theoretically couldn't we just sign up our members as unfavorable and not testifying to make that a non issue? Like, have someone print out a list of everyone who objects online here? The angry mommies did something similar with their print outs. My wife usually can't make these so I've been thinking of putting her in that way since she doesn't support these bills either.

Might be optimistic of me, but I was thinking last night.
What if this bill isn't intended to get through at all and they're using it as a carrot on a stick to get us riled up over this one thing so we pay less attention to the other things they want more? A lot of this stuff was intentionally left out of FSA 2013, and they damn near lost the case on that as well, and now they want to restrict more and send it to Trump's courts? I don't know. Seems unlikely they're that stupid for as vicious as they are, none of them wants to be the one that got a complete overturn and sets a national precedent.

FYI (at least how I understand it) when you go to the touch screen and enter your name and position on the bill, if your not doing anything else like testifying. Your only required to enter first and last name.. I put in family and coworkers until I ran out of names..

You can sign up against and not have to testify. Go for it!

Don't disagree at all, but I also think they are throwing it all out just for the 'see what sticks' end result.

The physiological effect of they can keep throwing crap out, some of it will be stricken but some will still get through regardless. They still made progress on their agenda anyways and we feel better that we got a 'concession'. Until next time and it just continues.

The precise reason for me testifying "in favor" was to be able to state the absolute insanity of SB0208- theft would be trivial compared to a loan. I did this to say it in front of the demanding mommies and say it while the senators were still listening. I can't speak for "the choir', but my clarification that I was in favor because if it passes, a lot of eyes would be opened was intentional and planned. I surely got Sen Smith's attention with that statement. Of course this was before this thread's calamity of a bill was proposed.

Mysteriously being appointed to Sen Lee's panel of experts was an added bonus to my sinister plan.

Fabsroman- Other than holding a "More Patriots Than You Have Handcuffs" sign on one night, what have you done to help? I see your posts here, but am unaware of any other actions on your behalf. We need all the attorneys we can get to help the cause. You haven't offered any suggestions as to how you think we should proceed.
    Please advise,

Hats off to you, sir. What you did was awesome. We could all use some more outside the box thinking like that.

Ianal so please enlighten me... Why doesn't this one line in COTUS make all these laws null and void??

    Bill of Attainder
A bill of attainder (also known as an act of attainder or writ of attainder or bill of penalties) is an act of a legislature declaring a person or group of persons guilty of some crime and punishing them, often without a trial. As with attainder resulting from the normal judicial process, the effect of such a bill is to nullify the targeted person's civil rights, most notably the right to own property (and thus pass it on to heirs), the right to a title of nobility, and, in at least the original usage, the right to life itself.

Why couldn't this be used to challenge the Red Flag Law?

Realistically, we don't have all those Bloomberg Bucks behind us, so our "public servants" would willingly use our lists to wipe with...

    In a House
Yeppers. That's how it's been in this state since 1994. This new one is just the old one with more chrome than they added in 2013. Back in '94 many of us realized that it was just the beginning.

Yep. Moved here from communist New Jersey in 1994 to the "free" state. Been a downhill slide ever since. Thought PA or VA might stay free but both are slipping too. VA was a surprise this year though.

They are empowered by what's going on in VA. They're going to go for it.

Virginia has nothing to do with it. They have a veto proof majority in MD, they can do whatever they want. There are a FEW (or were a few until this year) Dems that don’t fully agree with the more radical stuff and don’t vote for it or the bill isn’t reconciled between the House and Senate. Not too much anti-gun stuff has passed in the last 4 years or so, (Writing and testifying does help somewhat.)
Although their have been a few that made it through.

Sadly this year appears to be different. Hopefully the Senate has some common sense.
